Abstract: Techniques for wireless communication are disclosed. These techniques include determining that a first wireless access point (AP) has a failure to connect to a controller. The techniques further include identifying one or more neighbor APs, for the first AP, as candidate rescue APs, selecting a rescue AP, from among the candidate rescue APs, and establishing a secure connection from the first AP to the rescue AP. The techniques further includes transmitting diagnostic data from the first AP to the controller using the secure connection from the first AP to the rescue AP.

Abstract: Enhanced network level information for power control is described. The enhanced network level information enables network connected electronic devices to enter and exit standby modes based on system level information. The network level information also enables the use of a respective network connected device in a seamless manner from the perspective of the user, while decreasing the amount of energy consumed by the device when not in active operation. In some examples, a Network Monitoring Application (NMA) classifies electronic devices into power control categories, monitors a physical environment associated with the plurality of connected electronic devices, and provides a power control signal to the various electronic devices upon detection of a change in the physical environment.

Abstract: A network controller and various methods for grouping access points for AFC are presented. A method includes assigning a plurality of access points to a plurality of groups based at least in part on stored AFC reports for the plurality of access points, determining, for each group of the plurality of groups, a centroid and an uncertainty range, and generating, for each group of the plurality of groups, an AFC query using the determined centroid and uncertainty range for the corresponding group.
