  • Patent number: 6754561
Abstract: In a room exit determination, a determination of presence of a body in a room is made if a movement pattern vector consisting of a room ID of movement origin, a room ID of movement destination and a movement period of time is not received from the a non-specified room response sensor within a predetermined period of time. A determination of exit from the room of a body is made only when the movement period of time in the movement pattern vector agrees with a movement period of time of past exits from the room stored in the a movement time storage if this vector is received from the non-specified room response sensor.

  • Patent number: 5546327
Abstract: The zenithal angle of a spherical surface is divided at regular intervals, the horizontal angle thereof is also divided at regular intervals in correspondence with each of the zenithal angles, and in addition, the intensity of each energy line emitted from the center of the bottom surface of the spherical surface at the divided zenithal and horizontal angles corresponds to each zenithal angle. Thus, the energy lines can be isotropically emitted from the center of the bottom surface the spherical surface. The emitted energy lines are traced from the center to each object surface and the intensity of each energy line which has reached each object surface are added to each other. Then, the intensity obtained by the addition is divided by the intensity of entire energy lines emitted from the center. Thus, the geometrical view factor of each object surface can be found quickly and accurately.

  • Patent number: 5467401
Abstract: The present invention discloses a sound environment simulator including a sound field analyzing unit, a sound field reproducing unit, and an output unit. The sound environment analyzing unit divides the solid surfaces of a space to be analyzed into a set of sections to compute the volume of reflected sounds with a sound absorption coefficient of walls and form factors. It further computes time series data related to the arrival volume of sounds emanated from a certain sound source to the sound receiving point. An impulse response computing unit in the sound field reproducing unit transduces the time series data into an impulse response. Accordingly, the sound field reproducing unit convolutes the impulse response on a dry source in accordance with data related to a listener's position inputted from an associated virtual reality equipment to generate a reproduced sound over a headphone.
