    Abstract: A compact in-line high-speed apparatus and method for producing thermoplastic synthetic fibers includes a melt spinning device with a spinning block and a tow drawer; wherein the spinning block has at least one extruder, at least one spinneret block, and heating devices, and the tow drawer draws fibers spun from the spinning block as a bundled tow. Also provided is a drawn tow accumulating device equipped with at least two tow feeding rolls and a tow accumulating conveyer, wherein the tow feeding rolls feed the tow obtained from the tow drawer onto the tow accumulating conveyer, and the tow accumulating conveyer accumulates the tow fed from the tow feeding rolls. A high-speed tow stretching device is used for stretching tie tow supplied from the drawn tow accumulating device at high stretching speed.

    Abstract: A fiber bundle comprising a plurality of composite fibers spun out of a spinneret is blown against a working net conveyor by a drawing force of a high-speed air stream while the air stream is sucked and removed from below the net conveyor to deposit the fiber bundle on the net conveyor to form a web, and the web is then heat-treated to develop crimps and the fibers thermally adhere together at their points of contact, thereby obtaining a nonwoven fabric, wherein the air stream is blown against the web from below the net conveyor for a time before the heat-treatment, with an intensity sufficient to make the web to float in such a manner that the bottom face of the web rise above the net conveyor by 0.2 to 30 mm.

    Abstract: A spinneret assembly for conjugate spinning includes (1) a spinneret plate provided with a number of spinning holes and (2) a distribution plate superposed closely upon the upper face of the spinneret plate onto which two kinds of spinning liquids are to be fed. The distribution plate is arranged in such a manner that, of separate spinning liquid paths for the two kinds of spinning liquid comprising a number of separate and parallel inlet grooves for receiving individually and alternately the two kinds of spinning liquids fed from above and guide paths for guiding individually the two kinds of spinning liquids fed out of the inlet grooves onto upper openings of the spinning holes in the spinneret plate, a part or whole of each guide path forms a pressure-adjusting means.     Abstract: Polyolefin foamed fibers consisting of composite fibers having a good spinnability, a small fineness and a non-waxy feeling, and a process for producing the same are provided, which foamed fibers having a structure wherein only a composite component (B) dominantly forming the fiber surface of composite fibers along the direction of the fiber axis thereof is substantially foamed and a part of the resulting foamed cells are burst open on the fiber surface, and which process comprises adding a foaming agent only to the above component (B) and combining two composite components so that the composite ratio thereof is 30/70 or higher and the theoretical average thickness of the component (B) in the cross-section of the unstretched fibers is 2 to 15 microns.
