  • Patent number: 7409824
Abstract: An exhaust pipe is connected to an engine with a muffler attached to an exhaust pipe. An exhaust valve is provided for controlling the flow rate of an exhaust gas on the side of the exhaust pipe. A recessed portion is directed toward the center of the vehicle body and is formed on the side of the swing arm with the exhaust valve being disposed in front in the vicinity of the recessed portion. Operating wires are laid along an air cleaner case so as to open and close the exhaust valve. A servo motor is disposed at such a position that it can be covered with the seat cowl so as to drive the operating wires. The muffler is provided with a muffler protector and a cover portion that integral extends from the muffler protector with the exhaust valve being covered with the cover portion.

  • Patent number: 6676149
Abstract: A head pipe that supports a handle for a scooter type vehicle is covered with a front cover. Article container boxes are disposed in an upper portion of a rear side of the front cover, and a parking lever is disposed below the article container boxes. Accordingly, an opening of each article container box can be made larger and it is possible to increase the capacity of each container box. Large article container boxes can be disposed in the front cover and in the vicinity of the handle. A parking lever can be disposed in the front cover and in the vicinity of the handle at a position permitting a vehicle rider to easily reach and operate the lever without requiring any forced motion.

  • Patent number: 6623071
Abstract: A locking claw of a first seat locking mechanism is connected to a locking claw of a second seat locking mechanism by a second wire through a relay member so that, when the first seat locking mechanism is locked by an external force such as pressing down a seat by hand, the second seat locking mechanism is locked in conjunction with the first seat locking mechanism. The locking operations for a plurality of the first and second seat locking mechanisms can be carried out collectively and easily. In addition, locking of the plurality of lock members can be carried out assuredly without being influenced by dimensional variations, variations in assembly of a first and second U-shaped fixtures and the first and second seat locking mechanisms, by stiffness of the seat or the like. Therefore, repeated closing of the seat as in the case of the prior art where either one of a plurality of lock members fails to lock can be obviated, and convenience to use of the seat can be enhanced.
