Abstract: The structured document converting method converts a tagged structured document in which tags are hierarchically ordered, into a document of unrestricted order, in such a manner that the original structured document can be restored. When converting a tagged structured document in which tags are hierarchically ordered into a document of unrestricted order, positional information relating to the original structured document is appended as attribute information to each tag. Furthermore, an index and hierarchical layer depth are used as references in the positional information. Moreover, a namespace is assigned.

Abstract: A link-processing device for displaying a summary of linked information before the link is called up is disclosed. The link processing device includes an acquisition module, an extracting module, and a displaying module. The acquisition module acquires structured information containing: link-generating information for generating links between multiple resources; and predetermined supplemental information indicating characteristics of the resource. A setting is provided for whether all resources are to be acquired or not. Based on this setting at least one resource is acquired and displayed. If all resources are to be acquired, the extracting module extracts a section of each resource except for the resource display object and/or extracts from the structured information supplemental information regarding each resource except for the resource display object.

Abstract: A display process is carried out in high speed without changing a structure of a structured document. Within structural information of a structured document, a paragraph-forming element is obtained in which forming of a paragraph is designated in style definition information corresponding thereto. When the display information of the obtained paragraph-forming element is matched, a program for determining a relative layout of the respective display information within the paragraph is performed independent from a layout routine of another paragraph-forming element. Another program for visually outputting such display information of the paragraph-forming element whose layout routine is accomplished is carried out after the layout routines for all of the paragraph-forming elements located up-rank from the current paragraph-forming element have been accomplished.

Abstract: The present invention reads structured information previously obtained through analysis of a structured document and determines whether the input structured information provides information regarding structure elements (and showing the structure of the structured document) or provides content information. When the structured information provides information for structure elements, then style definition information required for display or printing is obtained and compared with corresponding display attribute information. When the style definition information and the display attribute information do not match, the style definition information is set to a buffer area for use by a display or printing apparatus, thereby to realize a high speed display or printing operation.

Abstract: A process for producing an ice, comprising the steps of allowing a material solution containing a sweetener to flow downward from the upper part of and along the surface of a freezing plate provided substantially upright, to thereby cause the material solution to freeze on and stick to the surface of the freezing plate to form an ice plate; breaking the ice place into ice pieces having a diameter of about 20 mm at maximum; and filling a container with the ice pieces. Abstract: A compound-semiconductor single-crystal-manufacturing apparatus comprises a crucible for holding a molten raw material of GaAs and a liquid capsule element of B.sub.2 O.sub.3, a crucible holder, a heat element concentrically surrounding the crucible, and a heat-shielding unit surrounding the heat element, for use in manufacturing a GaAs single crystal by progressively pulling it up from the raw molten material held in the crucible by the liquid encapsulated Czochralski (LEC) process. The heat-shielding unit and crucible holder are formed by molding a sintered aluminum nitride (AlN) element.
