  • Patent number: 9461790
Abstract: At least one example embodiment discloses a method of coordinating a change from a first operating state to a second operating state of a selected cell in a system. The method includes changing to an intermediate state from the first operating state based on first signaling information exchanged between a serving cell of a user equipment (UE) and the selected cell in the first operating state and at least one signal received by the selected cell in the first operating state from the UE, the first operating state being a dormant state and operating in the intermediate state based on second signaling information between the serving cell and the selected cell, third signaling information between the serving cell and the UE and transmission information between the UE and the selected cell, the intermediate state being between the first operating state and the second operating state, the second operating state being an on state where the selected cell serves the UE.

  • Patent number: 9456330
Abstract: First user equipment transmits a first synchronization signal and a second synchronization signal that are assigned to the first user equipment for device-to-device (D2D) communication. The first synchronization signal indicates a timing reference for D2D communication and a combination of the first synchronization signal and the second synchronization signal indicate resources allocated to the first user equipment to transmit discovery information for D2D communication. First user equipment detects a first synchronization signal and a second synchronization signal that are assigned to second user equipment for D2D communication.

  • Patent number: 9451570
Abstract: Embodiments of the claimed subject matter provide a method and apparatus for device discovery in device-to-device (D2D) communication. One embodiment of the method includes generating first information indicative of a first synchronization signal in response to a request from a first user equipment to be authenticated for D2D communication with one or more second user equipment. The first information corresponds to a sequence used to generate a primary synchronization signal for transmission by a serving cell for the first user equipment. This embodiment of the method also includes providing the first information to the first user equipment so that the first user equipment can transmit the first synchronization signal.

  • Patent number: 9445380
Abstract: An exemplary method of communicating includes a relay node that uses a cell identifier that is also used by a base station having a coverage area within which the relay node is located. The method includes determining that a mobile station is within a communication range of the relay node. A transmission power from the relay node is controlled so that the total transmission power of at least one transmission from the relay node and the base station corresponds to a selected transmit power limit. A timing of a downlink transmission from the base station and the relay node is coordinated based on a schedule determined by the base station. At least one uplink control parameter is set at the base station based upon uplink information regarding a link between the mobile station and the relay node.

  • Patent number: 9438436
Abstract: A multicast status availability indication from an anchor (24) is provided to a plurality of base nodes (22) that are part of a multicast group serviced by the anchor (24). The availability status indication in one example is sent autonomously by the anchor (24) independent of any inquiry or attempted setup of a new session with that anchor by a base mode (22). The base modes (22) maintain a candidate anchor set that includes information regarding currently available anchors for establishing new sessions, for example.
