  • Publication number: 20190130077
Abstract: Sensors arranged on a chair on which a subject is seated detect a physical characteristic of the subject during administration of a cognitive health assessment. An assessment processor coupled to the sensors executes computer-executable instructions causing the processor to determine a contemporaneous reaction corresponding to each of the questions as a function of the detected physical characteristic. And the subject is assigned a cognitive health assessment score based on the subject's answers and determined reactions.

  • Patent number: 7904086
Abstract: A method and computer program are provided for handing off a mobile device in communication with a first wireless system having a first network address to one or more other wireless systems within communication range of the mobile device. The method and computer program include periodically monitoring by the mobile device of communications from the first wireless system and the other wireless systems, calculating a signal strength associated with each of the monitored communications, selecting one of the other wireless systems, and transferring communication to the selected wireless system upon detection of a predetermined threshold of the signal strength associated with the first wireless system.

  • Publication number: 20090059827
Abstract: The present invention provides a system, method and apparatus for asynchronous communication in wireless sensor networks. Each sensor includes a transmitter normally operating in a sleep mode, a low power receiver having a memory, a sensing module, and a processor normally operating in a sleep mode communicably coupled to the transmitter, the low power receiver and the sensing module. Data is received via the low power receiver and stored in the memory. Whenever a wakeup time occurs, the transmitter and the processor are put in an operational mode, sensory data is obtained from the sensing module, the sensory data is processed, the received data is obtained from the low power receiver memory, the processed sensory data and the received data are transmitted via the transmitter, and the transmitter and the processor are put in the sleep mode.

  • Publication number: 20010036834
Abstract: A method and system for fast intra-domain handoffs. In accordance with the method a mobility agent performs a duration limited multicast of packets destined for a mobile node to a well-defined set of subnet agents that form a multi-cast group. The well defined set includes the neighboring subnet agents of the subnet agent currently serving the mobile node. Once the multicast group is established the mobility agent then tunnels packets destined for the mobile node to each member of the multicast group. The members of the multicast group, i.e., the current subnet agent and its neighboring agents, then buffer the packets destined for the mobile node for a limited. When the mobile node then requests an IP address on the new subnet it is moving to, i.e., a local care-of address, the corresponding subnet agent then transmits the packets destined for the mobile node to the mobile node.
