  • Patent number: 7657734
Abstract: The invention allows automatically multi-booting a computer. Each functional mode of a computer having at least two operating systems installed is associated with one of the operating systems. Functional mode information identifying a particular functional mode of the computer is stored by a recovery system. While starting the computer, a boot loader receives the stored functional mode information, selects the operating system associated with the particular functional mode, and activates the selected operating system for the computer.

  • Patent number: 6813356
Abstract: Method and system for updating an encryption key used for the encryption of a password in a telephone exchange system comprising a telephone exchange (LE), a maintenance center (SC), a first database (DB1) containing user-specific information, and a second database (DB2) containing the encryption methods used and the associated encryption keys. The user information contains data indicating the encryption key used last and the password encrypted using this encryption key. When the user is logging on in the system, the encryption key last used data is compared with the current encryption key data. If these differ, the user is identified by the password encrypted with the encryption key used last, and the encryption key last used data is updated with the current encryption key of the telephone exchange system, and the encrypted password is updated to make it consistent with the current encryption key.

  • Publication number: 20040098626
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of logging onto at least two network elements within a communications system, in which method a user inputs a first username (GUSER) and a first password (GPSSWD) at a user station (WS); said user station (WS) logs on (2-2) to a first system (NEMU) using said first username (GUSER) and said first password (GPSSWD) through a first connection; said first system (NEMUT) determines (2-10, 2-12, 2-14) a second username (MUSER) and a second password (MPSSWD) in co-operation with a second system (DX); said first system (NEMU) sends (2-18) said second username (MUSER) and said second password (MPSSWD) to said user station (WS); and said user station (WS) logs on (2-20) to said second system (DX) with said second username (MUSER) and said second password (MPSSWD).

  • Publication number: 20020124191
Abstract: Method and system for updating a password in a telecommunication network comprising a source system (LE1), a target system (LE2), an operation and maintenance network (OM), and an operation and maintenance center (OMC). Log-on into the source system (LE1) is accomplished by supplying a user identification and a corresponding password. A remote session connection is set up via the operation and maintenance center (OMC) to the target system (LE2). The password is checked for correctness by comparing it with the password corresponding to the stored user identification. When the password corresponding to the user identification is to be changed, the first password valid at the instant of change is stored as the old password, the new password valid after the change is stored, the passwords are sent to the target system (LE2), and log-on in the target system is accepted if the old or new password is correct.

  • Patent number: 6111944
Abstract: The operation and maintenance network of a telephone network system comprises a plurality of operation and maintenance (OM) units for operation and maintenance of the telephone exchange connected thereto, and an operation and maintenance center (OMC). The center comprises a data communication unit (DCU) for receiving the information collected by the exchanges, and for routing it to the I/O device of the data management unit (DMU) corresponding to the logical device connection determined in a logical routing task. Upon adding new device units to the operation and maintenance center, the changes to the routing are made in a specific substitution table, and routing is performed by means of forced control to the I/O device indicated by the substitution table. If there is no change, the incoming information is routed to the physical I/O device corresponding to the logical device connection determined in the routing task.
