  • Patent number: 11711771
Abstract: A method is described of evaluating the energy consumption of a service unit rolled out, or intended for being rolled out, on a given infrastructure of a communications network. The method includes determining the energy consumption W_no measured on the infrastructure in the absence of the service unit, determining the energy consumption W_yes measured on the infrastructure in the presence of the service unit, and obtaining the energy consumption induced by rolling out the service unit by calculating the difference (W_yes?W_no). The disclosed technology is applicable to 5G networks.

  • Patent number: 11677505
Abstract: Wireless communication devices, systems, and methods for decoding data packets for establishing latency-critical services. Each mobile station transmits multiple copies of a same data packet over a contention-based multiple access uplink channel without prior reservation of resources. Then, for a given mobile station, copies of a data packet are transmitted over identified resources of the channel, in a sequence known to the base station. Thus, for each mobile station, the base station knows which channel resources to look at in order to perform its decoding in a facilitated manner.

  • Patent number: 11375553
Abstract: Wireless communication devices, systems, and methods for establishing latency-critical services. When a mobile station attempts to transmit a packet on a contention-based multiple-access radio channel without a prior reservation of channel resources, the mobile station notifies the base station of its attempt to randomly access the channel. The notification is performed on dedicated channel resources. Upon receipt of the notification of a mobile station's access attempt, the base station can know that a mobile station is the origin of the colliding packets, and can therefore correctly manage the retransmission of packets not received.

  • Patent number: 10631241
Abstract: A system for evaluating the quality of communication in a wireless network, comprising at least one management center and at least one mobile terminal, is disclosed. The management center can be responsible for managing a given server station and a set of server stations which are adjacent to that server station. The management center can be configured to obtain the loads of said adjacent server stations, and to calculate, on the basis of said loads, the signal-to-noise ratio which would be characteristic of a communication between that server station and a mobile terminal positioned at a given point of the geographic area served by this server station.

  • Patent number: 10390300
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of waking up a base station of a cellular network, the method comprising the following steps: putting said base station partially on standby; and an access point of a local wireless network detecting the presence of a terminal in its coverage zone, and identifying said terminal. Said method further comprising the following steps: said access point transmitting a message indicating the presence of the terminal, said message containing an identifier of the terminal; the base station receiving said message; the base station transmitting to said cellular network information that said terminal is situated in its coverage zone; and the base station waking up when it receives a communication for the terminal from the cellular network. Application to heterogeneous mobile networks.
