    Abstract: A satellite receiving antenna at a user location receives satellite signals at a first frequency from a satellite. The satellite signals travel along a satellite signal route encompassed within an aperture of the satellite receiving antenna. A terrestrial transmitter transmits signals at the first frequency along a wireless transmission route from the transmitter to the user location. The terrestrial transmitter is located with respect to the user location so that the wireless transmission route is outside of the aperture of the satellite receiving antenna. Also the terrestrial transmission power is controlled so that the terrestrial signals present at the user location result in terrestrial input signals from the satellite receiving antenna which are below an interference signal power level with respect to satellite input signals produced by the satellite receiving antenna. Thus, the terrestrial signals do not interfere with the satellite signals even though they are transmitted at a common frequency.

A winning pattern comparing arrangement is connected to the card pattern and drawn symbol storage (16) and operates to compare the potential winning symbol patterns of each card issued in the game sequence with each drawn symbol immediately after the symbol is drawn. The comparison is to determine each match between the drawn symbol and a card symbol and discover the winning card in the game sequence. The apparatus (10) further includes a display for displaying the card identifier of the winning card or cards to the game operator and players.

    Abstract: An apparatus for providing local programming with direct broadcast satellite transmissions includes a terrestrial transmitter for transmitting converted local channel signals in a first frequency band. The first frequency band is contained within a satellite broadcast frequency band in which the direct broadcast satellite channels are transmitted. The apparatus also includes at each user or subscriber location, a first antenna for receiving the converted local channel signals from the terrestrial transmitter and a second antenna for receiving a direct broadcast satellite channel signals from the satellite. The apparatus further includes a combiner for combining the converted local channel signals and the direct broadcast satellite channel signals on a single propagation path. A signal processor/decoder processes the combined signals on the single propagation path to produce a desired channel output to drive a television set.

    Abstract: A radio frequency multiplexer provides a desired channelization plan by directionally coupling high quality linearly polarized filters to a waveguide manifold. The multiplexer includes a waveguide manifold for transmitting signals in a plurality of different frequency channels, a polarization translating coupling aperture arrangement, a circular polarizer, and filter for each channel. Wide band signals traveling along the waveguide manifold exit the waveguide through the coupling aperture arrangement. The linearly polarized signal from the waveguide manifold translates to a circularly polarized signal through the coupling aperture arrangement and these circularly polarized signals are translated back to linearly polarized signals by the circular polarizer. The linearly polarized wide band signals from the circular polarizer are then filtered with the filter device which allows only signals in a channel to be separated to pass.
