Abstract: A steering device for a motor attached to a boat which device includes an elongated steering arm having electrical means for starting and stopping the motor, the steering arm secured within a clutch mechanism wherein clutch sleeves are tightly rotatably mounted within a circular plate mounted on an internal shaft causing a drag on the steering arm when moved vertically positioning the steering arm at a desired position and where horizontal movement of the steering arm steers the boat.

Abstract: A jam nut apparatus for fastening to a threaded end of a bolt to secure the bolt where the threaded end has first handed threads includes a locking nut having an internal nut passageway with nut internal threads, the nut passageway having a first passageway end with an inwardly extending locking flange, a bolt end cap having a tubular cap side wall, the cap side wall having an open end with a locking edge and an inner surface with first handed internal threads, for engagingly receiving the threaded end of the bolt, the cap also having an outer surface with second handed external threads opposite to the first handed thread direction, external threads onto which the locking nut threads engagingly fasten, where the locking nut threads are oriented in the second handed direction.

Abstract: A locking bolt apparatus includes a bolt having a fastening end with a circumferential channel around the fastening end, a bolt lock assembly including a cylindrical sleeve for receiving the fastening end of the bolt, the cylindrical sleeve having a pin slot angled with respect to the cylindrical sleeve longitudinal axis, a locking pin in the slot oriented perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the cylindrical sleeve and having two ends extending beyond the slot, the pin positioned to laterally enter the circumferential channel, and an annular release member, slidably encircling the cylindrical sleeve, for engaging the two ends of the pin and pushing the pin out of the slot and out of the channel to release the bolt.
