    Abstract: An LED lighting system is described that is comprised of an LED ribbon strip having LEDs to emit light and an LED lighting cover having a top section, an internal channel and a cavity; wherein said internal channel will house the LED strip; said cavity will be located in the top section and positioned above the internal channel such that the LEDs being housed in said internal channel will emit the light to enter the cavity and shine through the top section of the LED lighting cover. The LED lighting system as recited in claim 16 further comprising a sleeve; said sleeve being flexible and encapsulates said LED ribbon strip in an interior channel; said interior channel large enough to allow said LED ribbon strip to twist within said interior channel when said sleeve is flex from side to side.

The light will be blended evenly on a plastic lens cap located above the group of LEDs. A diffusion gel and/or holographic paper can also add to the even spread of the LED light. The LEDs contained in the group will basically be a warm white LED, a cool white LED and a colored LED. The colored LED can be an amber or red LED.

The lighting device is deactivated when the mating surfaces are placed proximate to each other and is activated to illuminate an interior of the accessory when the surfaces are separated. The lighting device utilizes a reed switch which responds to a proximate magnetic force and the complimentary member includes a magnet so that the powers to the LED is turned off when the mating surfaces are brought into contact with each other.
