    Abstract: A securing device for securing a line and/or fishing tackle to a fishing rod. the securing device comprising a body, a first aperture (11) in the body adapted to engage the fishing rod and a second aperture (12) in the body spaced from the first aperture (11) and adapted to releasably engage the fishing line and/or an item of fishing tackle. In further embodiment the device may be formed with holes to receive hooks, and being preferably buoyant and formed in bright colours. A method of securing a line is also described.
