  • Publication number: 20230408231
Abstract: Ammunition (100, 100?) for light firearms, the ammunition (100, 100?) defining a longitudinal axis (X) and comprising: —a tubular casing (1, 1?) containing gunpowder (2), provided with a base (3, 3?) which delimits a hole (31, 3?); —a primer cartridge (4) which closes said hole (31, 3?); —at least one bullet (5) at least partially arranged in the casing (1, 1?); —a body (6), or base wad, made of polymeric material, defining a cavity (60?), arranged in the casing (1, 1?); wherein said body (6) comprises: a first part (61) having an outer surface in contact with the inner surface of the casing (1, 1?); and a second part (62), spaced apart from the inner surface of the casing (1, 1?), formed by a side wall (621) which extends from said first part (61), and by an upper wall (622), spaced apart from said first part (61), transverse to said side wall (621); characterized in that said side wall (621) is completely closed and comprises one or more portions (71, 72) adapted to break at the detonation of the primer car

  • Patent number: 10107608
Abstract: A fractionated-combustion cartridge is made by inserting a bushing into the cartridge case at the height of the bottom, the bushing being coaxial with said cartridge case, and the face of which, facing the interior of the cartridge case, is provided with a trigger guard coinciding with the diameter of said face.

  • Patent number: 8122828
Abstract: Ammunition with structural and functional features such as to optimize the propellant combustion process when the weapon is fired, resulting in accelerated delivery of the combustion gases. For this purpose, advantageously, the ammunition at issue is fitted with an innovative firing system (4), the incendiary operation of which allows to ignite the entire quantity of propellant (7) in a homogeneous and capillary manner. In this operational circumstance, a considerably larger quantity of propellant (than that occurring with the known art) is therefore ignited in a shorter time. This results in accelerated delivery of the gases, such as to transmit to the projectile (5) an extremely fast burst of thrust, resulting in greater ballistic yield of the projectile and greater damage to the target.

  • Publication number: 20020053280
Abstract: Improvement to firearms suitable for utilization with different types of ammunition, in conditions of absolute safety, said firearm comprising an expansion chamber (10) that communicates with barrel (1) of the firearm through at least one connecting hole (14), a front and back calibration screw (13, 12), for increasing the volume available to the expansion of combustion gases. Said hollow expansion chamber (10) is located in the lower back part (9) of the barrel (1), (or possibly in its upper part, in parallel to it); said expansion chamber (10) being equipped with an internal threading (11) which is capable of engaging itself to back calibration screw (12) in the distal back part, and a further calibration screw (13), which can be manually operated by a threaded knob (13a), located in the front part.

  • Patent number: 6374720
Abstract: A device that is capable of adjusting the volume available to combustion gases following their expansion in a firearm includes (i) an expansion chamber connected to the barrel of the firearm through (ii) at least one connection hole disposed near the beginning of the rifling; (iii) a front calibration screw capable of being rotated into or out of the expansion chamber so as to calibrate the firearm for a particular ammunition; and (iv) a back calibration screw capable of being rotated into or out of the expansion chamber so as to calibrate the firearm for a particular ammunition. Adjustment of the positions of the front calibration screw and the back calibration screw facilitates the adjustment in the volume of the expansion chamber. By virtue of the adjustable volume expansion chamber, it is possible to adapt the physical features of the firearm to the specific type of ammunition that is to be employed, such as, for example, a high charge load cartridge.
