  • Patent number: 7382241
Abstract: A vehicle LED tail-light bulb (10) that is designed to replace an incandescent light bulb, to be inserted into a conventional right and left vehicle light socket and to function in combination with a vehicle battery that powers the bulb (10) and a flasher unit that is activated by a vehicle turn-signal arm. The LED tail-light bulb incorporates an electronics circuit consisting of an input circuit (12), an intermediate circuit (14) and an output circuit (16). The electronics circuit is designed to operate the left and right turn lights and in some cases an emergency light and to produce a current flow of sufficient magnitude to energize the vehicle flasher unit. The energized flasher unit then causes the bulb (10) to blink when the vehicle turn-signal arm is placed in either a right turn or a left turn position.

  • Patent number: 7100936
Abstract: A trailer hitch (20) for attachment onto a motor vehicle for pulling a trailer. The hitch (20) consists of a pair of forward and aft mounting brackets (22 and 24) that are connected into existing holes in the vehicle's frame. Each mounting bracket has flanges (22? and 24?) with the aft brackets (24) having thru-holes (26) arranged in a bolt circle array. The pair of forward mounting brackets (22) are connected to the aft mounting brackets (24) for length adjustment of the trailer hitch relative to the hitch position on the motor vehicle. The height of the trailer hitch (20) is regulated by the right side up or upside down position of the aft mounting brackets (24) properly orienting the thru-holes. A box hitch (44) is adjustably attached for width regulation onto the thru-holes of the aft mounting brackets (24) by inserting arms (30) into a tubular sleeve (50) of the box hitch at an appropriate distance.

  • Patent number: 6465962
Abstract: A vehicle auxiliary lamps installation kit (10) that is designed to be operated in combination with a set of auxiliary lamps (26), a vehicle's alternator (34) and a vehicle battery (36). The kit (10), which is designed to be placed and attached within the engine compartment of a vehicle, is disclosed in four design configurations. The first and second designs allow the auxiliary lamps (26) to be manually turned on for a brief period with a remote pocket transmitter (14). In the third and fourth designs the auxiliary lamps (26) automatically turn on when the vehicle's engine is running with the vehicle generator (34) operating. The fourth automatic design also incorporates a photo sensor circuit (40) that causes the auxiliary lamps (26) to turn on only when the ambient lamp level falls to a preselected level such as when darkness appears.

  • Patent number: 6273378
Abstract: A vehicle auxiliary-lamp mounting assembly (10) consisting of a lamp-housing bracket (12) which has attached a resilient latch insert (50), and a lamp-housing mounting bracket (100) which incorporates a latch receptor (116). The lamp housing bracket (12) is adjustably attached to the sides of a vehicle auxiliary lamp (200), and the lamp-housing mounting bracket (100) is attached to a vehicle structure. When the resilient latch insert (50) is inserted into the latch receptor (116) the vehicle auxiliary lamp (200) is secured. Normally, a conventional vehicle lamp mounting assembly cannot be easily attached adjacent to a corner structure because there is insufficient space to insert and tighten a bolt or nut into the lamp mounting assembly. By utilizing the vehicle auxiliary-lamp mounting assembly (10) the problem of attaching and detaching a lamp assembly adjacent to a corner structure is solved.

  • Patent number: 6012828
Abstract: A device (10) for attaching a light to a trailer hitch frame (172). The device (10) is comprised of a lamp assembly (12) that attaches to an adjustable lamp attachment assembly (40) which allows the lamp assembly (12) to be adjusted radially and in elevation. The lamp assembly (12) is attached to a trailer hitch frame attachment bracket (64) that is dimensioned to fit over a trailer hitch frame (172) that can range in size from 1.25 square inches to 4.0 square inches (3.2 to 10.2 cm). The frame attachment bracket (64) is attached to the trailer hitch frame (172) by means of two nylon tie wraps (136,144). The tie wraps, which are secured to the bracket (64), are wrapped around the trailer hitch frame (172) and are locked in place. After the bracket (64) is secured to the trailer hitch frame (172), the device (10) is connected to the vehicle electrical circuit that controls the vehicle rear lights.

  • Patent number: 5980785
Abstract: In accordance with the present invention, there are provided novel metal-containing compositions useful for the preparation of electrical resistance devices (e.g., resistors and thermistor elements). Compositions according to the invention comprise at least one low melting point metal material, and optionally a higher melting point metal material, with the further presence of a binder system also being optional. Compositions according to the invention exhibit a wide range of resistivity and a wide range of values for temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR). Compositions with low values for TCR are useful for resistor applications while compositions with large values for TCR are useful for thermistor applications. Resistor or thermistor elements can be produced by applying compositions according to the invention onto suitable substrates and subsequently alloying (i.e., curing and/or sintering) the compositions.

  • Patent number: 5909084
Abstract: A daytime running lights adapter kit (10) which is designed to be installed in a vehicle to allow the vehicle to be equipped with daytime running lights. The kit (10) is enclosed within a single enclosure (12) that encloses an electronic unit (14). From the unit (14) extends a set of cable assemblies (40-46) that have attached a set of connectors (30-36). Each connector is keyed to fit into an existing vehicle receptacle (56, 58, 62, 64) that are each connected to the particular vehicle light that is to function as a daytime running light. The daytime running lights adapter kit (120) is enabled and turns on the particular lights only when the vehicle engine (50) is operating and the manual frontlight switch (54) is off. When the vehicle engine (50) is turned off or the frontlight switch (54) is placed in the on position, the kit (10) is disabled.
