  • Publication number: 20070201648
Abstract: A method for attributing costs for a telephone call in an SS7 network. Information associated with the telephone call is captured and retained when the telephone call is provided to a call recipient by a second carrier that is a UNE-P lessee of a first carrier. The captured information is stored when including a CNAM query. The CNAM query is associated with the second carrier and reflected in an updated record containing the total volume of CNAM queries handled by the first carrier for the second carrier.

  • Publication number: 20050132160
Abstract: In one embodiment, a firmware module is relocated from a read-only memory location to a writeable memory location during a system boot-up operation. A portion of the writeable memory location is reserved which comprises a memory allocation for the firmware module and an additional memory allocation. Without prior knowledge of system resource allocation, the additional memory allocation is designated as a run-time data area.

  • Patent number: 5013304
Abstract: An intravascular catheter assembly includes a catheter needle sheath having a retractable needle which is moved upon slidable movement of a handle member that is slidably mounted in the housing of the catheter needle sheath. The catheter needle safety sheath is insertable into a catheter or into a catheter adapter and backflow device which is in turn insertable into the catheter. The backflow device includes an elastomeric diaphragm disposed therein which re-seals upon withdrawal of the needle therefrom and advantageously prevents excessive fluid leakage from the catheter. The catheter needle safety sheath provides an improved means for disposing of the used needle since the handle member may be slidably moved in a rearward direction so as to retract the needle within the sheath. Both the catheter needle safety sheath as well as the catheter adapter and backflow device prevent unnecessary exposure to bodily fluids which may transmit diseases and thereby enhance the safety of the operators of these devices.

  • Patent number: 4941479
Abstract: A protecting and restraining apparatus for use in applying an intravenous or catheter system to an extremity of the body for substantially immobilizing the extremity while permitting continued intravenous or catheter system operation comprising: an elongated flexible sheet member adapted to be wrapped about and encompass the arm, the sheet member further comprising a main base portion and a plurality of straps integrally formed with and transversely depending from the main base portion at a marginal longitudinal edge of the main base portion, each of the straps being connected to its adjacent straps at selective points along confronting marginal transverse edges of the adjacent straps; a flexible sleeve member being pivotally attached to a first surface of the sheet member coextensively along one marginal longitudinal edge of the sleeve member so as to allow pivoting of the sleeve member toward and away from the first surface of the sheet member, the sleeve being adapted to accept and retain a stiffener membe
