  • Publication number: 20050183136
Abstract: Method and system for selecting a password encrypted with a correct software version in a telecommunication system. The system of the invention comprises a source system (LE1), a target system (LE2), an operation and maintenance network (OM) established between the source and the target systems, and an operation and maintenance center (OMC) connected to the operation and maintenance network (OM). In the method, log-on in the source system (LE1) is accomplished by supplying a user identification and a password corresponding to it. Further, a remote session connection is set up via the operation and maintenance center (OMC) to the target system (LE2).

  • Patent number: 6895505
Abstract: Method and system for selecting a password encrypted with a correct software version in a telecommunication system. The system comprises a source system (LE1), a target system (LE2), and operation and maintenance network (OM), and an operation and maintenance center (OMC). In the method, log-on in the source system (LE1) is accomplished by supplying a user identification and a corresponding password. A remote session connection is set up via the operation and maintenance center (OMC) to the target system (LE2). The password encryption software versions in the target system (LE2) and in the source system (LE1) are compared with each other; and, if the password encryption software versions in the source and target systems differ from each other, the password belonging to the user identification in question associated with an earlier password encryption software version is sent to the target system (LE2).

  • Patent number: 6854060
Abstract: Method and system for dynamically modifying access right profiles in the operating system of a computer system or a telephone switching system. In the method, access right profiles having individual command rights to the operating system of the computer system are defined in the computer or telephone switching system. According to the method, the need for modification of the access right profiles in the computer system is recognized; the information contained in the access right profiles is read; the access right profiles which have to be modified are determined; and the access right profiles are modified dynamically as necessary in view of the need for modification that has been recognized.

  • Patent number: 6813356
Abstract: Method and system for updating an encryption key used for the encryption of a password in a telephone exchange system comprising a telephone exchange (LE), a maintenance center (SC), a first database (DB1) containing user-specific information, and a second database (DB2) containing the encryption methods used and the associated encryption keys. The user information contains data indicating the encryption key used last and the password encrypted using this encryption key. When the user is logging on in the system, the encryption key last used data is compared with the current encryption key data. If these differ, the user is identified by the password encrypted with the encryption key used last, and the encryption key last used data is updated with the current encryption key of the telephone exchange system, and the encrypted password is updated to make it consistent with the current encryption key.

  • Publication number: 20020069357
Abstract: Method for user identification and ascertainment of authenticity of parties in a telecommunication system comprising a telecommunication network; a source system connected to the telecommunication network; and a target system connected to the telecommunication network. According to the method, user identifiers and associated passwords are stored in the source system and in the target system; log-on into the source system is accomplished by entering a user identifier and a password corresponding to it; the user is identified in the source system; and a remote session to the target system is set up. In the invention, identical indexed encryption keys are generated in the source system and in the target system and the target communication between the source system and the target system is encrypted using an encryption key indicated by a given index and a kind of handshake operation is performed. By virtue of the handshake operation, the user can be identified with certainty.
