The pointer control mechanism is movable along the movable guide member and movement of the pointer control mechanism provides a direction control for the display screen pointer. The housing unit may be a remote control unit with a set of function keys operable to select one of a plurality of modes of operation of a computer system. The function keys may be operable to select a television mode, network communication mode or a video cassette recorder mode. The keypad over which the pointer control mechanism move may be a typewriter style keypad on the remote control.

Abstract: A torque multiplying wrench having a jaw at one end and an adaptor at the other end for receiving torque input. The wrench employs a rotatable shaft extending the length of the wrench with bevel gears at the proximate end to engage the input adaptor and a bevel gear arrangement at the distal end to transfer torque from the shaft to the jaw which is toothed. The bevel gear arrangement at the distal end of the wrench employs a pair of shafts engaged at one end to said rotatable shaft through bevel gears. The shafts fan out to opposite sides of the jaw and employ worm gears to transmit the output torque to the jaw. The worm gears are especially designed to increase the number of teeth engaged with the jaw in order to reduce the load on individual teeth.

Abstract: A torque multiplying wrench having rotatable jaws at one end to deliver the torque and a driven member at the opposite end to receive the input torque. The driven member is connected to the driven jaws by a plurality of gears mounted on posts spaced within the housing along the length of the wrench. The gears and posts are readily removable to replace any failed gears or posts. Provision is included to absorb reaction forces. In other embodiment, provision is made for a powered input to the wrench.

There is an external take-off member to which force can be applied and an internal chain and gear drive to effect the torque multiplication. A floating jaw member is rotated by the internal mechanism and there is provision for inserts to accomodate different size nuts.
