Abstract: Computer-implemented methods and systems are provided for fulfilling obligations between a plurality of parties over a computer network. In an exemplary implementation, a computer implemented method for fulfilling obligations between a plurality of parties over a computer network is provided. In this exemplary implementation, on a client controlled by a first party of the plurality of parties, a party can initiate a payment transaction request, in a single currency, to a second party of the plurality of parties. The payment transaction request is then sent to a server controlled by an independent third party to the plurality of parties. The server then accepts payment transaction requests from the client machine and saves the transactions as uncleared incoming and outgoing payment transactions in a data store. At a time determined by the server, all uncleared payment transactions from the plurality of parties are cleared.
