Abstract: A tablet terminal comprises a touch panel which functions as a display for displaying a screen on a front face of a main body, and a controller which detects a contact to a touch sensor using a contact detection signal which the touch sensor outputs and executes control assigned to a point where the contact is detected after the point where the contact is detected is changed to a non-contact state.

Abstract: Portable terminal equipment as a mobile telephone includes a display device disposed with a front surface of a housing. A first touch sensor is provided in the display device. A lateral recess is formed in at least one side surface of the housing. A side touch sensor is disposed in the housing in a range including the lateral recess. Preferably, the lateral recess is constituted by plural lateral recesses formed in the one side surface. Also, a state detection device recognizes a lateral recess where contact is detected among the plural lateral recesses by use of the side touch sensor. A disabling device disables the side touch sensor from detecting contact in a lateral recess among the lateral recesses other than the lateral recess where contact is detected, for adaptation to finger operation of one of right and left hands.

Abstract: An electronic book reader includes a touchscreen display device disposed on a front surface of a housing. A storage medium stores image sequence information of plural images of a predetermined sequence. A contact surface portion is disposed on a side surface of the housing. A touch sensor detects contact with the contact surface portion. There is a CPU for display control of displaying the image sequence information on the touchscreen display device. An information processing device is connected between the storage medium and the CPU, for processing the image sequence information according to contact information from the touch sensor. The contact information is information of a rubbing movement in contact with the contact surface portion. The information processing device processes the image sequence information for forward or backward page turning according to a direction of the rubbing movement.

Abstract: When an image is touched on a touch screen, the image is displayed as if a touched side of the image is pressed down and an opposite side of the touched side is lifted up. Priority levels of peripheral portions of the image are set in accordance with up and down of the image. Rendering priority between images to be overlapped is determined in accordance with a dominant-subordinate relationship between the priority levels of the peripheral portions of the respective images to be in contact. One of the images is displayed in an overlapped portion of the images based on the rendering priority.

Abstract: An image editing apparatus has editing functions for editing a still image displayed on a screen of an LCD. The image editing apparatus is provided with a touch panel, a judgment section, and a display controller. The judgment section determines which of the editing functions is requested to be executed, in accordance with how a second touch operation is performed while a first touch operation on the still image on the touch panel is maintained. The display controller executes the editing function determined by the judgment section, and displays an edited image on the LCD.
