Abstract: A motor vehicle includes a clutch linkage connected to a throw out lever which is operated by a clutch pedal or said control lever biased by a return spring to a clutch engaged position. A damper with a cylinder housing a piston and a piston rod delays excessively rapid engagement of the clutch by engaging the clutch linkage to provide a force opposed to pressure from the return spring. The damper functions to prevent mechanical damage to the motor vehicle and to avoid discomfort to passengers.

Abstract: The present disclosure generally provides devices and methods for facilitating treatment of a tip portion of an emitter of an electrospray column. The column includes a sheath at a distal end that is normally biased in an extended position that covers the tip portion, and is in a retracted positioning during use that exposes the tip portion. The devices of the present disclosure provide a longitudinally extending support member, a laterally extending sheath engagement member, and a laterally extending column engagement member. The devices are configured such that when the devices and column are coupled, the column engagement member of the device engages a lateral surface at a proximal portion of the column, and the sheath engagement member engages and retracts the distal sheath of the column to expose the tip portion of the emitter.

Abstract: A method of clamping a conduit comprising a cylindrical conduit (tube or pipe) to an aperture in a rigid barrier by steps of providing a clamp with a wide plate with a peripheral flange on an obverse end and a narrower boss on an opposite end and with a central hole extending through the plate and the boss, and with a radial slot extending outwardly from the central hole to peripheral edges of both the plate and the boss. The steps include inserting a wedge into the radial slot; moving the clamp into contact with a rigid barrier; affixing the clamp to the rigid barrier with adhesive or fasteners; and removing the wedge from the radial slot.
