  • Patent number: 5799923
Abstract: A compensator assembly for incorporating into a motor mount includes a base, a connecting link, a thrust rod, and a pair of rubber thrust grommets. The connecting link and thrust rod form a solid link to connect a motor mount to the flexible rubber grommets held by the base. Bushings positioned coaxially within the grommets prevent lateral deformation of the grommets. The compensator assembly compensates for forces of thrust on the motor mount and prevents the motor mount from exceeding its flex capabilities.

  • Patent number: 5310372
Abstract: A through hull assembly to be incorporated in a marine drive has a housing secured to the hull. The housing consists of a rearward tubular section and a forward section. The tubular section is of a length to extend through the hull and is connected and sealed thereto in a manner preventing leakage through the passageway through which the tubular section extends. A shaft extends through both housing sections and is sealed to opposite ends thereof and is supported by bearings in each section with the ends of the shaft exposed. The bearings in the forward section are accommodative of forward and rearward thrusts. A lubricant reservoir maintains the housing full with the lubricant level in the reservoir giving information if there is any housing leakage.

  • Patent number: 4311028
Abstract: Flexible couplings have either their drive or their driven members freely rotatable within the chambers of the other members with a predetermined working clearance between them and with their proximate surfaces formed with lengthwise and radially aligned channels defining retaining passages for elastomeric splines which permit torque-applying and spline-compressing forces to be transmitted between the chamber and the entrant member thus causing the turning thereof and the misaligning forces to be resiliently accommodated. The chambers may be integral parts of the members or they may be sleeves in which case the drive and driven members are or may be identical and connected to the sleeves.

  • Patent number: 4300872
Abstract: An attachment by which a hydraulic pump is to be driven by an outboard motor has a coupling by which the pump shaft is or can be connected to the support established by the fly wheel of the motor or the fly wheel and the upper end of the crankshaft with the weight of the attached pump transmitted to the support. The attachment also includes torque opposing and pump stabilizing means by which the pump is or may be attached to the motor laterally of the fly wheel. In one embodiment of the invention, misalignment forces are accommodated solely by the torque opposing means and in another embodiment the coupling is flexible.
