  • Patent number: 5913479
Abstract: Various improved snap hooks having generally S-shaped bodies are used to engage spaced objects. In one embodiment, the snap hook has three sections; an eyelet, hook and hinged gate. The hook has a shank leading to a curved section that terminates in a receiving end. The receiving end has a notch on the lip of an inside surface. A metal wire gate extends from a supporting portion located on the eyelet and is biased closed against the notch. The gate has a long arm and a short arm, each terminating in a stem element. The gate is bowed to conform with the shape of the snap hook. When opened, the gate straddles either side of the shank so as to maximize the size of the aperture created when the gate is opened. In a first embodiment, the supporting portion is two supporting holes. The stem of each the long and short arms are inwardly turned so as to fit into respective supporting holes. In a second embodiment, the supporting portion is a single supporting hole.

  • Patent number: 5207171
Abstract: An adjustable rope lock including a body of material having converging passageways extending therethrough with the passageways terminating at one edge of the body in a joined, merged passageway and terminating at an opposite edge of the body in spaced relation with the rope being threaded through the passageways with the two ends of the rope extending outwardly from the merged passageway at one edge of the body. The merged passageway from which the free ends of the rope extend is generally elliptical in shape although the specific configuration can vary with the ropes being positioned one above the other with one rope supporting a load and forming a taut rope segment. The other rope is the adjustable rope and forms a pull rope segment which may be pulled freely to take up slack, maintain or increase tension.

  • Patent number: 4702447
Abstract: A clamp device for interconnecting two entities, one of which may be a support and the other of which may be an item to be supported with the clamp device including a stem and a plurality of jaws connected to the stem at one end thereof, a hand manipulated nut threaded on the stem for causing the jaws to engage and be connected to one of the two entities and means on the other end of the stem to engage and be connected to the other of the entities. The jaws are constructed in various shapes, sizes, configurations and arrangements with the closing force for the jaws being provided by manual rotational movement of the screw-threaded nut which has a surface engaging with an extension surface on the jaws to move the jaws to entity engaging position and retain them in that position. The other end of the stem has various structures providing connection to the other entity and the stem also includes an aperture in one embodiment to receive and retain a supporting rod for a flag or other similar structure.

  • Patent number: 4586284
Abstract: A fishing line signalling device for attachment to a fishing rod and receiving the fishing line in a manner that a visual or audible alarm or both will be activated when the fish strikes or takes the bait thereby alerting the person using the fishing rod to the fact that a fish has taken the bait or hook. The fishing line signal is battery operated, provided with a switch to selectively actuate either or both the visual and audible signals and is adaptable to any size fishing rod, used with any type of reel and allows a person to fish with more than one rod at a time and is suitable for trolling, still water fishing, night fishing, ice fishing and fresh or salt water fishing.
