  • Publication number: 20170106371
Abstract: A system, device, and method for receiving, preparing and identifying a biological sample. Some parts may be user held and actuated. The sample may be detected by an array of sensors. The system may comprise reusable and disposable components arranged to be connected together. The biological sample may contain nucleic acids, proteins, or other molecules to be detected.

  • Publication number: 20150040229
Abstract: A method and system for discovering and testing security assets is provided. Based on source definition data describing sources to monitor on the one or more computer networks, an example system scans the sources to identify security assets. The system analyses the security assets to identify characteristics of the server-based applications. The system stores database records describing the security assets and the identified characteristics. The system queries the database records to select, based at least on the identified characteristics, one or more target assets, from the security assets, on which to conduct one or more security tests. Responsive to selecting the one or more target assets, the system conducts the one or more security tests on the one or more target assets. The system identifies one or more security vulnerabilities at the one or more target assets based on the conducted one or more security tests.

  • Patent number: 8158062
Abstract: A fluid sampling device (100) that operates by a combination of capillary action to collect a small fluid sample, and by pressure differential when inserted into an analyzer (200) to expose the fluid sample for testing by the analyzer (200). The device is especially suited for use as a disposable blood sampling unit designed to interface with a blood analyzer, albeit the concept of the invention may be employed for sampling and testing virtually any fluids.

  • Patent number: 7838296
Abstract: The present invention provides an apparatus and method for measuring the properties of blood using ultrasound. The present invention is particularly suitable for measuring HCT, HGB, MCV, RBC, MCHC, MCH or TPC of blood.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 28, 2002
Date of Patent: November 23, 2010
    Assignee: Separation Technology, Inc.
Inventors: Scott Corey, John Sakers, Keith Lipford, Samuel Reed, Brian Murphy
  • Patent number: 7523649
Abstract: An ultrasonic field-portable system for accurately measuring hematocrit (HCT) and hemoglobin concentration (HGB) in small food samples. The system includes an analyzer (10) that allows extremely accurate measurements of blood hematocrit from only one or two drops of +>>d collected in a disposable sampling device (12) that is then inserted into the analyzer (10). The system is compact enough to package into a point of care device, making it a point of care device with accuracy comparable to larger CBC lab equipment.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: April 28, 2009
    Assignee: Separation Technology, Inc.
