  • Publication number: 20240159689
Abstract: Digital image correlation is provided. The method comprises applying two or more unique X-ray attenuating patterns to a number of test samples and then applying physical deformation to the test samples. The test samples are irradiated concurrently with an X-ray source, and a path-integrated composite X-ray image is recorded that superimposes the unique X-ray attenuating patterns on each other. According to the path-integrated composite X-ray image, the method determines respective deformation of each of the unique X-ray attenuating patterns produced by the physical deformation of the test samples.

  • Publication number: 20240131271
Abstract: A drive train for a wind-up injection device is described. The drive train includes a torsional energy storage adapted to be loaded or unloaded by a rotatable element, a rotatable user handle, a rotationally driveable expelling mechanism adapted to expel the liquid drug, and a clutch element coupled with the torsional energy storage via the rotatable element and including a ratchet for maintaining the rotatable element at one of a number of discrete angular positions against the torque of the torsional energy storage. The clutch element is adapted to transmit the torque from the user handle to the torsional energy storage, or alternatively from the torsional energy storage to the expelling mechanism. The ratchet is switchable from one position to an adjacent position by a torque transmitted from the user handle to the torsional energy storage. The drive train is adapted to dampen torque peaks visco-elastically and/or visco-frictionally.

  • Publication number: 20240086976
Abstract: In a system for delivering information to and displaying information on a networked device of a user, a microprocessor is coupled to a database and a memory device. The microprocessor runs a software application for delivering an applet application to the networked device and managing the delivery of the applet application. The applet application provides for the display of information on the networked device by an applet. The database stores a first set of information relating to the user, and the memory device includes a second set of information for comparison to the first set of information, and a third set of information for display by the applet. The microprocessor compares the first set of information to the second set of information to determine whether to transmit the third set of information to the networked device for display by the applet.

  • Patent number: 11925973
Abstract: Grain size of a deliverable metal product can be improved by pre-setting recrystallization-suppressing dispersoids during casting. The outer regions of a direct chill cast embryonic ingot can undergo reheating before casting is complete. Through unique wiper placement and/or other reheating techniques, the temperature of the ingot can be permitted to reheat (e.g., up to approximately 410° C. to approximately 420° C.), allowing dispersoids to form. Stirring and/or agitation of the molten sump can facilitate formation of a deeper sump and desirably fine grain size as-cast. The formation of dispersoids during and/or immediately after casting can pin the grain boundaries at the desirably fine grain size, encouraging the same grain sizes even after a later recrystallization and/or solutionizing step.

  • Publication number: 20240071593
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed that provide smart alerts to users, e.g., alerts to users about diabetic states that are only provided when it makes sense to do so, e.g., when the system can predict or estimate that the user is not already cognitively aware of their current condition, e.g., particularly where the current condition is a diabetic state warranting attention. In this way, the alert or alarm is personalized and made particularly effective for that user. Such systems and methods still alert the user when action is necessary, e.g., a bolus or temporary basal rate change, or provide a response to a missed bolus or a need for correction, but do not alert when action is unnecessary, e.g., if the user is already estimated or predicted to be cognitively aware of the diabetic state warranting attention, or if corrective action was already taken.

  • Patent number: 11878339
Abstract: Described herein are techniques for improving the grain structure of a metal product by applying ultrasonic energy to a continuously cast metal product at a position downstream from the casting region and allowing the ultrasonic energy to propagate through the metal product to the solidification region. At the solidification region, the ultrasonic energy can interact with the growing metal grains, such as to deagglomerate and disperse nucleating particles and to disrupt and fragment dendrites as they grow, which can promote additional nucleation and result in smaller grain sizes.

  • Publication number: 20230418878
Abstract: A multi-model data store comprises an enrichment catalog and an enrichment memory graph. Raw data from a source raw datastore is enriched based on an enrichment function. Enriched data is stored in graph nodes with edge associations indicating the enrichment type and confidence level. The enriched data is also stored in the enrichment catalog with full breadcrumb provenance and lineage identifying, with cataloged enrichment steps, down to a record and field in the source raw datastore. Additional enriched values and associations between graph nodes can be entered in the graph by a user. Queries to the multi-model database begin in the graph and continue to the enrichment catalog. Query results include the full sequential chain of enrichments to source raw data records and fields, and may include dynamically generated virtual enrichment catalog records that link search values not found in the enrichment catalog to enrichment catalog records via the graph.

  • Publication number: 20230355937
Abstract: Apparatus and associated methods relate to smart shunt systems. In an illustrative example, a cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) shunt system includes an interface module and conduit(s) configured to provide selective fluid communication between a brain ventricle(s) and at least one reservoir. The interface module may be operably coupled to one or more control module(s). The control module(s) may, for example, be operably coupled to one or more actuator(s) and/or sensor(s) (e.g., in the interface module(s), external to the interface module(s)). The control module(s) may, for example, selectively operate one or more of the actuator(s) as a function of input received from one or more of the sensors based on one or more predetermined control profile(s). Various embodiments may advantageously dynamically (e.g., automatically) control physiological attributes (e.g., CSF attributes).

  • Publication number: 20230353628
Abstract: Disclosed in some examples are methods, systems, machine-readable mediums, and devices for providing an aggregated view of reactions to content across multiple sharing locations of a network-based content sharing service and in some examples across multiple sharing locations of multiple network-based content sharing services. The system may track or determine reactions across different sharing locations of a single content sharing service (such as a unified communication service) or across multiple services. In some examples, only reactions to the content that are from sharing locations accessible by a particular user are aggregated and displayed to the particular user. In other examples, reactions may be viewable from all sources regardless of access by a user.
