  • Patent number: 4462573
Abstract: A post for supporting upper and lower temporary guard-rail chains around the periphery of a concrete floor slab on a building under construction. The post has two vertically spaced pairs of hooks to which respective chains may be attached so as to make it virtually impossible to dislodge either chain accidentally. The post has a screw-threaded rod for insertion in a wire nut embedded in the floor slab. A clamping nut on this rod is adjustable to clamp the post in a position in which the hooks are on the side of the post away from the periphery of the floor slab.

  • Patent number: 4412407
Abstract: For anchoring the lower end of a support post for a guard rail at the edge of a concrete floor or stairway in a building under construction, a helical wire nut is positioned inward from a perimeter board of the form for the floor or stairway. A vertical bolt having its lower end threadedly received in the nut is supported by an angle bracket mounted on the perimeter board of the form.

  • Patent number: 4052031
Abstract: The concrete form apparatus includes a pair of spaced form sections. The form sections are held in properly spaced relation by spreader sleeves and threaded adjustment means in the form of a threaded rod which engages nuts suitably positioned on the form sections. The form sections can be erected and dismantled from the inside of a building, thus eliminating the need for any type of exterior scaffolding and the expense of erecting and dismantling it. The threaded adjustment means makes it possible to adjust the form sections to the proper horizontal spacing from inside the building. A second threaded adjustment means provides for vertical adjustment of the form sections.

  • Patent number: 3995834
Abstract: A clamping arrangement for the support of temporary guard rails of the kind used on balconies, shaft openings, porches and other building parts, and particularly for use during building construction. The clamping means includes a tubular upright post carrying means for the support of guard rails. The post is fixed on a frame of inverted L-shape. Adjustably mounted on a leg of the frame are two clamping bars constituting jaws of the clamp. Stops are provided on the leg of the frame and they act to locate one of the clamping bars at one or more positions on the leg of the frame, the other clamping bar being moved to a co-operative clamping relation with the first bar by means of an adjustable threaded rod extending through the tubular post.
