Patent number: 5116692Abstract: A multi-layer type sliding bearing of aluminum alloy and a method of producing the same are disclosed. The multi-layer type sliding bearing includes a mixture layer which has a thickness of not more than 0.5 microns and which is constituted by a mixture of the constituents of the overlay and one element selected from the group consisting of Ni, Co and Fe. The mixture layer is provided between the overlay and a bearing layer of aluminum alloy. In order to prevent fretting, a 0.1 to 5 micron thick plating layer may be provided on the surface of a backing layer of steel which is located on the rear-face side of the bearing. This plating layer consists of the constituents which are the same as those of the overlay.Type: GrantFiled: June 1, 1989Date of Patent: May 26, 1992Assignee: Daido Metal Company Ltd.Inventors: Sanae Mori, Masaaki Sakamoto, Hideo Ishikawa, Yoji Nagai

Patent number: 4930910Abstract: A bearing arrangement including a plain bearing consisting of a laminated body of a bearing layer and a backing metal supporting the bearing layer. The backing metal is made of a material whose modulus of elasticity is lowered by cold working (austenitic stainless steel), and the bearing layer and the backing metal are joined to each other by cold rolling. Since a working proportion of the backing metal upon the above-mentioned cold rolling is small in the inside portion held in contact with the bearing layer but is large in the outside portion, the modulus of elasticity of the backing metal is different between the inside portion and the outside portion thereof, and the modulus of elasticity in the outside portion is smaller than the modulus of elasticity in the inside portion. Also, the hardness of the outside portion is higher than the hardness of the inside portion.Type: GrantFiled: December 23, 1988Date of Patent: June 5, 1990Assignee: Honda Giken Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Sanae Mori, Masaaki Sakamoto, Takuo Wada, Yoshikazu Mizuno, Masakazu Sato
