Abstract: A method, system, and article for management of travel and travel related matters. Both a source and a designation are selected, together with the associated departure and arrival information and the mode of transportation. A geographic region affected by a health related event is identified, and then employed to determine if a craft in support of the selected travel has been or is intended to be in the identified region. Exposure to the identified health related event may be mitigated by supporting an amendment to the mode of transportation.

Abstract: A file server receives a request from a client to mount an encrypted file system. The file server informs the client that the requested file system is encrypted and, in turn, receives a session ticket from the client that includes a security protocol mounting selection. The file server decrypts the client's user's encrypted private key, and then decrypts the requested encrypted file system using the private key. In turn, the file server sends the decrypted file system to the client over a secure channel, which is based upon the security protocol mounting selection. In one embodiment, a key distribution center server receives a request from the client for the client's user to access the encrypted file system at the file server. The key distribution center server retrieves an intermediate key; includes the intermediate key in a session ticket; and sends the session ticket to the client.

Abstract: Techniques for managing electronic mail. Folder rules for associating electronic mail messages with folders are received. The folders are managed by an electronic mail client and stored in a computer usable memory. Electronic mail messages are also received. Each of the electronic mail messages is associated with at least one of the folders according to the folder rules. Furthermore, a visibility condition is received. The visibility condition specifies when a specified folder is visible in a user interface of the electronic mail client. A processor causes the specified folder not to be visible in the user interface when the visibility condition is not satisfied. A visibility condition may instead specify when a specified folder is not visible in the user interface. In this case, the specified folder is caused not to be visible in the user interface when the visibility condition is satisfied.

Abstract: Systems and methods to manage database data are provided. A particular method includes automatically identifying a plurality of storage devices. The storage devices include a first device of a first type and a second device of a second type. The first type includes a solid state memory device. The method may further identify a high priority data set of the database. A rebalancing operation is conducted that includes moving the high priority data set to the solid state memory device and substantially evening distribution of other data of the database among the storage devices.

Abstract: A method, programmed medium and system are provided for enabling a user to choose a user-preferred encryption type from among a plurality of encryption types listed in a user's Kerberos configuration file. During the ticket granting process in a Kerberos system, a user is requested to select a preferred encryption type to be used in the Kerberos communication from among encryption types contained in the user's Kerberos configuration file. The user-selected encryption type is then implemented for use in encrypting a session ticket (as well as generating the session key of user requested encryption type) for use by the user machine in communicating securely with an Kerberized application server when being communicated by that particular user. Thus, the system allows different users to simultaneously communicate with the same Kerberized application server using a supported encryption type of the user's own choice.

Abstract: An automated, embedded & intelligent E-mail Attachment Document manager automatically tracks email and their associated attachments and assists users in locating an email message (email-chain/thread) that is the original source from where the email attachment document. The present invention can perform the tracking action using the given name of the saved attachment file.

Abstract: Illustrative embodiments provide a computer implemented method, a data processing system and a computer program product for locating contact information in a mobile phone network within a social network. In one embodiment, the computer implemented method permits reciprocal access between a first user's contact information and a second user's contact information by a first user device and a second user device, and permitting reciprocal access between the second user's contact information and a third user's contact information by the second user device and a third user device. The computer implemented method receives a request from the third user device to contact the first user device, wherein the first user contact information is unknown to the third user and issues a search on the mobile phone network, from the third user device, for the first user contact information.

Abstract: The present invention, in one embodiment, aids the user during composition of emails/letters/documents with assistance for correct gender usage. In one example application, first an automated user information look-up process is initiated over centralized databases using the proper names mentioned in the composition. Once matches are found, gender-related information is retrieved and the composer is assisted with gender recognition tools while composing gender-sensitive statements. When mismatches between proper nouns and the corresponding adjectives/pronouns are found, this method proceeds with highlighting or otherwise flagging the mismatching words. Upon right-clicking the highlighted words, the user is given suggestions for the most probably correct options. Examples of the idea explained in this invention can be incorporated in existing software/systems of email/document editor/composers.

Abstract: An invention is disclosed for providing instant messaging (IM)/chat computer software applications with an automatic secondary “pop-up window” feature that is optionally enabled by a communicating user to cause a separate dialog box window (i.e., a “child window”) to appear for every query or question asked (or other user input received) in a “question and answer” or other IM/chat communication session, in order to individually display each question (or other user input) along with a text entry area for providing an answer or other response.

Abstract: A computer implemented method, data processing system, and computer program product for securing confidential and sensitive information displayed on a computer monitor. Confidential information is displayed in an application on a computer, wherein the application is registered in a registration list comprising a list of all applications containing confidential information. A monitoring device is used to monitor an area around a user of the computer for a possible intruder. Responsive to detecting a possible intruder, an action for securing the confidential information displayed on the computer is identified based on the applications specified in the registration list. The action is then executed.

Abstract: An email content management method, system and program are provided for mapping subsets of electronic mail (email) message content sent to one or more recipients with the same or similar names. Subsets of email message content are accentuated and designated for a predetermined recipient. Coordinates of the accentuated content are automatically generated and stored in a message recipient mapping table with display attributes and the email ID of the designated recipient. The recipient's email client receives the email, and if the recipient's email ID is present in the recipient mapping table, corresponding message content coordinates are retrieved and their associated display attributes are applied. The entirety of the email message content is displayed with subsets of the message content designated for the recipient accentuated according to their respective display attributes.

Abstract: A multi-display system and method supporting differing accessibility feature selection provides a suitable display for a user with limited visual acuity, while providing a second display having a different accessibility feature set to a second user. An application or operating system checks selected accessibility features and display settings corresponding to each graphical display device and generates multiple graphical outputs in conformity with program output and the corresponding accessibility features and display settings for each device. One graphical display may be a personal computer display and the other a projector, so that an accessible desktop can be presented to the presenter, while the presentation can be shown with a desired set of attributes. The operating system may support the above-described operation by generating the multiple display outputs from the accessibility settings and a single program output.
