  • Patent number: 5823870
Abstract: An apparatus used with a vehicle one way ventilation exhaust valve with a plurality of flexible flaps is provided comprising a retainer with a frame and a plurality of flap retention members connected across U-shaped members attached to the frame such that when the apparatus is positioned proximate the valve, the retention members bias the flaps in the closed direction to prevent excessive movement of the flaps.

  • Patent number: 5741043
Abstract: A window assembly specifically for the rear hatch opening of a motor vehicle is provided which is pivotally moveable between an open position and includes an exterior surface mounted completely flush with adjacent surfaces of the vehicle body. In a preferred embodiment, a mounting bracket interconnects an adjustable support member and a glass panel of the window assembly through an adhesive bond. The mounting bracket includes a generally planar mounting portion and a tab portion. The mounting portion is generally curvilinear with the laterally opposing sides in parallel relationship to one another. The curvilinear configuration of the mounting portion functions to oppose a bending moment imparted by the adjustable support member as a result of pivotal movement of the glass panel between its open and closed positions.

  • Patent number: 5676220
Abstract: A manual control arrangement for an adjustable control pedal system for a motor vehicle provides for pivotal adjustment of the control pedals relative to the vehicle driver. The manual control arrangement allows optimal adjustment of each of the control pedals of the motor vehicle (e.g. the brake and accelerator pedals for motor vehicles with automatic transmissions, or the brake, accelerator and clutch pedals for motor vehicle with manual transmissions) relative to driver so as to suit the needs of a particular driver for maximum comfort and operability. The manual control arrangement is preferably operatively arranged with each of the control pedals for simultaneous and uniform adjustment and is preferably interconnected with a plurality of camming devices corresponding in number to the number of control pedals.

  • Patent number: 5267774
Abstract: A foldable and removable top for a passenger vehicle. The top includes an overhead cover member and side curtains. The overhead cover member has a support arrangement including front and rear headers, transverse bow members, and side rails. The flexible and foldable fabric of the cover member is secured at its end portions to the front and rear headers and the bow members are secured across the middle section of the fabric between the side rails. One end of each side rail is pivotally mounted to the rear header and the other, free end is releasably securable to an end of the front header. When assembled, the side rails extend between the front and rear headers to hold them in a spaced-apart, extended position with the fabric of the cover member being drawn taut therebetween. The side curtains of the top are releasably securable to the overhead cover member and are also releasably securable to the vehicle itself by a unique hook and catch arrangement.
