    Abstract: A method of forming a plurality of reflectors for a light emitting device (LED) package includes receiving a first fluid material at at least a first source opening of an upper mold of a transfer apparatus; passing the first fluid material through a transfer passageway of the upper mold; expelling the first fluid material from the transfer passageway through a plurality of openings in a lower internal surface of a transfer chamber of the transfer passageway; depositing the first fluid material on a lead frame, disposed on a lower mold of the transfer apparatus, through the plurality of openings; forming the first fluid material into a plurality of molded structures using the upper mold and the lower mold; and hardening each of the molded structures to form a plurality of reflectors.

    Abstract: A method of light source classification includes determining a plurality of color regions in the CIE 1976 chromaticity diagram according to desired classification criteria. The plurality of color regions of the CIE 1976 chromaticity diagram are converted into a plurality of color classification regions defined by color coordinates of the CIE 1931 chromaticity diagram. The light source is classified into one of the plurality of color classification regions. This classification method may allow for precise classification based on actual color differences, while providing light sources having color uniformity in the same classification region.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a semiconductor laser device in which a ridge is formed to have a buried structure inside cleaved surfaces in order to prevent grains from being formed at the cleaved surfaces. A method for manufacturing the semiconductor laser device is also disclosed. The semiconductor laser device comprises a first-conductivity type substrate, a first-conductivity type clad layer formed over the substrate, an active layer formed over the first-conductivity type clad layer, a second-conductivity type clad layer formed over the active layer while having a ridge spaced apart, at respective opposite longitudinal ends thereof, from a laser emitting end surface and an end surface opposite to the laser emitting end surface by a predetermined gap and a current blocking layer formed on the second-conductivity type clad layer around the ridge. In accordance with the invention, it is possible to prevent formation of grains at the cleaved surfaces.
