    Abstract: A display apparatus with a light-weight power providing unit that can be easily incorporated within an acceptable fastening-error range is disclosed. The display apparatus includes a display panel that displays an image, a backlight assembly that provides the display panel with light, a rear cover that is coupled to the backlight assembly and has a guide unit formed thereon, wherein the guide unit protrudes from a bottom surface of the rear cover by a predetermined height, and a top-receiving container that has an inner space to receive the display panel and the backlight assembly and that is combined with the rear cover. There is also a power providing unit that provides the backlight assembly with driving power. The power providing unit is coupled to the rear cover at a position guided by the guide unit.

    Abstract: A lamp fixing member includes a body portion, a lamp fixing portion and an upper supporting plate. The lamp fixing portion is disposed on the upper surface of the body portion and has a groove for fixing a lamp. The upper supporting plate is combined with the lamp fixing portion and fixes an upper portion of the lamp. The lamp fixing portion includes a combining portion for being combined with the upper supporting plate. The supporting plate and lamp fixing portion may be formed of a silicone material. Therefore, the efficiency of lamp assembly is enhanced by automated assembly process and a display quality is enhanced by reducing temperature deviation in the lamp fixing portion. The lamp fixing portion may further include a lower supporting plate combined with the lamp fixing portion to fix a lower portion of the lamp.

    Abstract: An LCD device has scratch-resistant property without using a protection sheet and can provide enhanced brightness. The LCD device includes a light path regulating member. The member includes a first prism sheet having first prisms of which apex has a round shape. The first prism sheet concentrates light supplied from a lamp to output the concentrated light. An anti-glare polarizing plate uniformly polarizes polarized planes of the concentrated light and provides the polarized light to the lower substrate. The anti-glare polarizing plate is arranged below the lower substrate of an LCD panel, and an uppermost prism sheet of optical sheets is non-matte-treated and has round-treated apexes. In spite of the absence of the protection sheet, the scratch-resistant property of the uppermost prism sheet and the brightness of the LCD panel may be enhanced.

With this configuration, the present invention provides a backlight assembly for an LCD apparatus, which is improved in preventing a bright-line occurring on a front area adjacent to a light-entering surface of a light guide plate and in enhancing the brightness.

A distance between free ends of the wing portions is less than a distance between the first and second ends of the body portion, where the conductive member is at a free existing state without any external forced applied. A tension generated by a restoring force of the wing portions fixes the PCB with the mold frame without using a separate fixing member.

The width of the first end portion including the catching jaw is wider than the width of a second end portion opposite to the first end portion. Therefore, the catching amount of a catching boss integrally formed with the mold frame and the catching jaw of the light guide plate is remarkably increased and the light guide plate is prevented from being flowed towards the lamp even when exterior impacts are applied to the liquid crystal display device.
