  • Publication number: 20040163405
Abstract: A refrigerator with an ice feeding unit allows an outlet control unit which opens or closes an outlet of an ice container, to be quietly operated. The refrigerator with the ice feeding unit includes an ice container in an ice storage compartment. A control member is installed at a position around an outlet of the ice container to open or close the outlet of the ice container. A connection rod is rotatably installed at a predetermined position of the ice container to operate the control member. A first eccentric part is provided at a first end of the connection rod which is in contact with the control member, to be eccentric from a center of rotation of the connection rod, and a second eccentric part is provided at a second end of the connection rod which is opposite to the first end of the connection rod, to be eccentric from the center of rotation of the connection rod.

  • Publication number: 20040144130
Abstract: An integrated-type suction pipe module for refrigerators, and a refrigerator having the integrated-type suction pipe module allow a suction pipe to be completely isolated from an interior of the refrigerator and an atmosphere. The integrated-type suction pipe module includes a suction pipe, and a foam body. The suction pipe defines a refrigerant path between an evaporator and a compressor. The suction pipe has an exposed part placed in a machine room which is exposed to an atmosphere, and an embedded part which is placed to be isolated from the atmosphere. The embedded part is disposed in the foam body. The construction enhances work efficiency while producing a refrigerator, and simplifies a design of a machine room to provide a better appearance. Further, the suction pipe is completely isolated from the atmosphere, thus preventing dew from being formed on the suction pipe. A heat exchanging effect between a capillary tube and the suction pipe is maximized.

  • Publication number: 20040104654
Abstract: A cabinet for recessed refrigerators, which has an integrated single inner casing. The cabinet has an outer casing to define an appearance of the cabinet, the outer casing being a box-shaped body open at the front thereof, and an integrated single inner casing installed in the outer casing, with a predetermined space defined between the inner and outer casings. The integrated single inner casing defines therein at least two storage compartments open at the fronts thereof, with a partition wall formed between the at least two storage compartments to maintain a predetermined gap between the storage compartments. The cabinet according to the present invention has an improved appearance and a stable structure, in addition to reducing the number of elements thereof, and improving assembly efficiency.

  • Publication number: 20040046092
Abstract: An anti-falling device for refrigerators has an improved structure capable of effectively preventing a refrigerator from falling flat on a front thereof despite a heavy door and allowing the cabinet of the refrigerator to move from a wall of a building easily when the rear portion of the cabinet needs to be cleaned or repaired. The anti-falling device is provided at a position between the cabinet of a refrigerator and a wall of a building against which the cabinet stands, thus preventing the cabinet from falling flat on the front. The anti-falling device includes a hooking rod provided on the wall of the building. A rotary hook is rotatably mounted to the cabinet and is engaged with or disengaged from the hooking rod in accordance with a rotation thereof.

  • Publication number: 20040040338
Abstract: A refrigerator in which a machine room and an air cooling chamber having an evaporator, are placed at a top of a cabinet to maximize the storage capacity of lower sections of storage compartments. The refrigerator includes a cabinet defining a storage compartment therein. A top projection part is formed by projecting a rear portion of a top of the cabinet upward. The top projection part defines the air cooling chamber therein, such that the air cooling chamber extends upward from an upper portion of the storage compartment. The machine room is defined on the top of the cabinet at a position in front of the top projection part, and receives a compressor and a condenser therein.
