  • Patent number: 11412230
Abstract: Systems and methods may provide for occlusion detection in frame rate conversion. Detecting the occlusion allows frame rate conversion to be more accurately performed. In some embodiments, one or more stereoscopic depth cameras may be used to determine the depth of a moving object to more accurately determine the occlusion. In some embodiments, the compression ratio may be adjusted to balance the frame rate and power to help ensure compliance with a power budget. In at least some embodiments, the motion of a camera may be passed from a 3D render pipe to an encoder to avoid motion calculation and thereby saving power.

  • Patent number: 11399187
Abstract: Systems and methods for detecting screen contents and adaptive enablement of screen content coding modes. Encoding mode decision may be made adaptive to include or exclude screen content coding (SCC) modes. In some embodiments, a screen content decision is based on one or more statistics characterizing a distribution of meaningful colors (e.g., chroma) and/or intensities (e.g., luma) determined for a population of pixels of an input picture. In some embodiments, a screen content decision is based on one or more statistics characterizing the pure flat area of an input picture and the area with extreme sharp edges. Pictures may be encoded according to a mode selection that is adaptive to the screen content decision, for example selecting between encoding modes that include SCC modes, or selecting between encoding modes that exclude SCC modes.

  • Patent number: 11285657
Abstract: A thermoforming system for forming a cushioning pod structure that includes a first and a second thermoforming station with each comprised of a film holder and a thermoforming mold holder. The system implements a thermal source that is moveable between the first thermoforming station and the second thermoforming station such that the film holders are between the thermal source and the respective thermoforming mold holder. The system also relies on intentional application of a vacuum source fluidly coupled to thermoforming stations and a movement mechanism configured to move the thermal source between the first thermoforming station and the second thermoforming station. Additional aspects contemplate the implementation of a positive pressure source to aid in the dislodgment of the formed portion, a cooling system to adjust mold temperatures, and/or a fan to efficiently thermoform the component.
