Abstract: A device and method for providing a haptic user interface in a mobile terminal that can provide a haptic response to user manipulation are provided. The device for providing a haptic user interface in a mobile terminal includes a pointing device for receiving manipulation from a user to control a pointer; a display unit for displaying the pointer on a screen; a memory unit for storing information of a voltage level to be supplied to a vibration unit according to a coordinate value of the pointer; a controller for outputting a control signal based on the coordinate value of the pointer in the display unit according to movement of the pointing device and information of the memory unit; and a vibration unit for generating a vibration according to the control signal. Therefore, by generating a vibration according to movement of a pointer, a user can feel a response to manipulation of the user interface with the sense of touch as well as the sense of sight, thereby providing interest and convenience to the user.

Abstract: A mobile terminal having a dual display unit and a method of changing a display screen using the same are disclosed. The mobile terminal includes a main body, a front display unit for providing a multimedia mode, a rear display unit for providing a normal mode, and a screen control module for controlling to turn off the rear display unit and turn on the front display unit, and to display a multimedia execution screen in the front display unit. The method of changing a display screen of the mobile terminal having additional multimedia functions provides an optimum multimedia environment and improves user convenience and effectiveness of the mobile terminal by flexibly supporting a multimedia function to be executed according to a screen state of the rear display unit.

Abstract: A digital broadcast receiver and associated access restriction method are disclosed. The access restriction method includes receiving digital broadcast data containing access restriction information, selecting in sequence scene broadcast data from the digital broadcast data, determining whether access restriction is applied to the scene broadcast data, providing, if access restriction is applied, an advance notice for a corresponding access-restricted scene, and outputting the scene broadcast data at a time delayed by a preset preliminary notice duration.

Abstract: A viewing and listening restriction apparatus and method for digital broadcast are disclosed. A digital broadcast receiver receives authentication information through a wireless communication network, registers the authentication information, sets viewing/listening restriction information according to an authorized user's selections, and applies viewing and listening restriction to digital broadcast on the basis of the viewing and listening restriction information. As a result, viewing and listening restriction can be applied to a digital multimedia broadcasting (DMB) phone by blocking broadcast operation on the basis of preset conditions.

Abstract: The folder type mobile terminal is operated in a horizontal mode or vertical mode depending on a display state of a display unit of which a length and height are different, and includes a digital broadcast processor for receiving and processing digital broadcast data in a broadcast reception mode, a folder movement detector for detecting opening and closing of a folder, the display unit for outputting the digital broadcast data in the horizontal mode, and a controller for controlling an operation of the folder type mobile terminal to maintain the call if the folder is closed in response to an incoming call during the broadcast reception mode. Abstract: Disclosed are a system and a method for broadcasting a user report. In the system and the method, a user transmits a user message including a report and location information stored in a digital multimedia broadcast receiving terminal to a digital multimedia broadcasting station as incoming information extracted from digital multimedia broadcasting signals. The digital multimedia broadcasting station receives the user message and the location information, generates area information which includes both area specific information of an area based on the user message and the location information and area specific information of adjacent areas, and broadcasts the area information. The digital multimedia broadcast receiving terminal having received the area information provides the area information to a user when previously stored location information is included in the area specific information of the area information.

Abstract: Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for preventing contents from being recorded by an external device. A digital broadcasting receiver capable of reproducing a broadcasting transmits a watermark together with broadcasting data, thereby preventing unauthorized copying. If contents transmitted by a broadcasting provider are displayed through an external monitor such as a general TV in the case of digital multimedia broadcasting (DMB), the copying of the contents may be performed without any restrictions. Accordingly, in view of content protection mechanism, a unique code is produced only when the DMB data is transmitted to an external device, the digital broadcasting receiver and the DMB data can be traced.
