A method for adjusting sound output includes establishing a connection with a wireless headset, transmitting a test signal within a voice band, receiving a sound signal inputted through a microphone of the portable terminal in response to the transmitted test signal, analyzing the sound signal, and adjusting sound output to be transmitted to the wireless headset according to the analysis result.
