  • Publication number: 20240174927
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method for co-pyrolysis of a polyolefin and a rubber containing material comprising: operating at least a pyrolysis stage of a pyrolysis reactor at an operating temperature at or above the temperature at which pyrolysis of both the polyolefin and the rubber containing material commences and up to about 600° C. under a substantially inert atmosphere; feeding a mixture comprising the polyolefin and the rubber containing material into the pyrolysis reactor; co-pyrolysing the mixture in the pyrolysis reactor to produce a pyrolysis gas comprising volatile pyrolysis products of the polyolefin and the rubber, wherein the volatile pyrolysis product of the olefin comprises at least a short chain olefin and the volatile product of the rubber comprises at least a diene; and facilitating a gas phase reaction between the short chain olefin and the diene to produce a volatile gas comprising single-ring aromatic hydrocarbons.

  • Patent number: 6524354
Abstract: The present invention describes a process for the production of low ash fuel using calcined petroleum coke by crushing and screening of calcined petroleum coke below 3 mm size, mixing the crushed and screened materials to achieve a bulk density in the range of 760 to 800 kg/m3, mixing 10-100% of the resultant calcined petroleum coke with 0 to 50% coke breeze, pre-soaking the mix so obtained with 5-10% water, mixing with hinder followed by kneading in presence of live stream, then briquetting and curing of the raw briquettes in a furnace in a controlled oxidising atmoshpere to obtain the low ash fuel.

  • Patent number: 6148599
Abstract: A process and apparatus for gasifying high moisture content carbonaceous material by introducing a solid first carbonaceous material (1) into at least one pressurized drier vessel (2), the first carbonaceous material having a moisture content above about 30 wt % wet basis. The moisture content of the first carbonaceous material is reduced by passing a hot flue gas having a low oxygen content through the pressurized drier vessels. Then the dried first carbonaceous material is transferred from the drier vessels to a pressurized carbonizer vessel (10). The dried material is partially gasified in the carbonizer vessel to produce a high temperature fuel gas (18) and a solid residual material (16). The solid residual material is transferred to a pressurized combustion chamber (4) to produce the low oxygen content flue gas for the pressurized drier vessels.
