Patent number: 10308603Abstract: This invention relates to an improved process for the selective production of N-methyl pyrrolidone (NMP) from gamma-butyrolactone and monomethyl amine preferably in aqueous form in the presence of a catalyst under comparatively milder conditions than the processes well known in the prior art of literature. The process is economically viable as it provides higher yield and selectivity for NMP which reduces the cost of separation of NMP from GBL. The catalyst shows good recyclability without significant loss in catalytic activity and no frequent regeneration is required.Type: GrantFiled: May 17, 2016Date of Patent: June 4, 2019Assignee: Council of Scientific & Industrial ResearchInventors: Indrajit Kumar Ghosh, Suman Lata Jain, Praveen Kumar Khatri, Siddharth Sankar Ray, Madhukar Onkarnath Garg

Patent number: 9000933Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods are disclosed which relate to utilizing a wireless communication device which receives allergy information from network nodes. The wireless communication device contains an allergy profile for the user. When the wireless communication device receives allergy information this allergy profile is referenced to determine if any allergens near the user may cause a problem for the user. If allergens exist to which the user is allergic, a visual, aural, and/or tactile alert is output on the wireless communication device.Type: GrantFiled: May 12, 2011Date of Patent: April 7, 2015Assignee: AT&T Intellectual Property I, L.P.Inventors: Sankar Ray, Farooq Bari

Patent number: 8630660Abstract: A wireless telecommunications system can receive position information associated with a wireless mobile device of a user and a medical access point name from the wireless mobile device, can determine a gateway based on the position information and the access point name, can receive medical information associated with the user from the wireless mobile device via the gateway, and can provide, based on the medical information and the position information, the medical information to a computer system of a medical facility. The medical information can include drug allergies, food allergies, health issues, physician contact information, emergency contact information, and/or a preferred medical facility, among others. The medical information can be useful in providing medical aid to the user of the wireless mobile device if the user is not able to communicate via verbal means, via written means, and/or via sign means.Type: GrantFiled: May 18, 2011Date of Patent: January 14, 2014Assignee: AT&T Mobility II LLCInventors: Sankar Ray, Farooq Bari

Patent number: 6018659Abstract: A deployed group of airborne vehicles (AV) provide relay communication service among mobile and airborne customers by using a directed phased array antenna (PAA). The PAAs provide broadband communication with mobile customers. Each AV has a wireless link to one or more neighboring AVs forming an airborne inter-networked mesh constellation for routing traffic between mobile customers. The AV constellation includes gateway members that maintain high capacity point-to-point satellite or terrestrial base station links for communication connectivity outside the aggregate coverage area of the AV constellation. A constellation is managed by an operations control center whose duties include positioning and scheduling replacement of the constellation AVs and routine network management functions, to implement the rapidly deployable, broadband, mobile, wireless communication network.Type: GrantFiled: April 24, 1997Date of Patent: January 25, 2000Assignee: The Boeing CompanyInventors: Arun Ayyagari, Jeff P. Patent number: 5214275Abstract: Disclosed is an optically activated microwave switch (10) which includes a field-effect transistor (12) that is switched between conducting and nonconducting states by a photodiode (14) that is connected between the field-effect transistor gate and drain electrode and a photodiode (16) that is connected between the field-effect transistor gate and source electrode. The circuit is configured and arranged for switching unbiased sinusoidal microwave signals of a frequency as high as approximately 10 gigahertz. A cascade arrangement of switches (10) provides increased signal handling capability in situations in which a single switch cannot be employed. Monolithic integrated circuit realizations of both single stage and cascaded stage arrangements are disclosed in which the semiconductor substrate is GaAs, the field-effect transistors are metal-semiconductor field-effect transistors and the photodiodes are interdigitated metal-semiconductor-metal devices.Type: GrantFiled: September 30, 1991Date of Patent: May 25, 1993Assignee: The Boeing CompanyInventors: James L. Patent number: 4669175Abstract: A method for accurate front-to-back alignment of patterns onto a wafer for fabrication of multiple Burrus LED's. The front surface of the wafer has on it epitaxial layers, a dielectric layer and a metallization layer. The metallization layer includes perpendicular alignment indicia which intersect at metal contacts of the front surface of the wafer. The perimeter of the wafer is etched away to reveal the alignment indicia which when thus exposed are visible from the back side of the wafer. The exposed indicia is used to align holes in the backside metal contact to the metal contacts on the front surface.Type: GrantFiled: December 2, 1985Date of Patent: June 2, 1987Assignee: Honeywell Inc.Inventor: Sankar Ray
