  • Patent number: 11961074
Abstract: A method performed by a trusted network device and a network device for transmitting a trusted state representation of a state of a DLT network to one or more network devices is described. The trusted network device determines a state indicator. The state indicator is a representation of a state of the DLT network at a given time. The trusted network device transmits to one or more network devices a beacon message including the state indicator. The beacon message is signed based on authentication information associated with the trusted network device. The state indicator is to be used by the one or more network devices as a trusted current state of the DLT network.

  • Publication number: 20220327526
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for enabling efficient evaluation of transactions in a distributed ledger network are described. In one embodiment, a distributed ledger technology (DLT) node that is to evaluate multiple transactions determines dependencies between the transactions. Each transaction includes an input parameter and an output parameter. The input parameter includes indicators of states of addresses in the distributed ledger network that are to be used as inputs to the transaction. The output parameter includes addresses whose respective states are modified by the transaction. The DLT node evaluates the transactions based on the dependencies, where the evaluation of the transactions includes evaluating a first and a second transaction in parallel when the first transaction and the second transaction are independent from one another, and evaluating the first transaction and the second transaction sequentially, when the first transaction and the second transaction are not independent from one another.

  • Publication number: 20220046028
Abstract: Methods and network devices for determining a state of an account of interest in a distributed ledger technology (DLT) network are described. The determination of the state of the account of interest is performed based on a DLT state indicator that is a representation of a state of the DLT network that is trusted by the network device. The network device determines whether the DLT state indicator is indicative of the state of the account of interest. Responsive to determining that the DLT state indicator is indicative of the state of the account of interest, the network device retrieves the state of the account of interest based on the DLT state indicator. Responsive to determining that the DLT state indicator is not indicative of the state of the account of interest, the network device performs the following operations: determining a first set of one or more transactions that include the account of interest and executing the first set of transactions to obtain the state of the account of interest.

  • Patent number: 7505473
    Abstract: A method and devices are provided for handling a broadcast packet in a computer (131, 132, 612, 622, 632, 711, 721, 731, 741, 1111, 1112, 1301) that has an IPsec-protected connection to a part (121, 122, 141, 732, 733, 742, 743, 1113, 1114) of a logical network segment (101, 601, 701, 1101) within which the broadcast packet should be distributed. The IPsec protection specifies, what kinds of packets are acceptable for transmission over the IPsec-protected connection. The broadcast packet is encapsulated (204, 311, 508, 835, 838, 840, 842, 849, 852, 909) into a form that is acceptable for transmission over the IPsec-protected connection. It is then transmitted (205, 206, 312, 509, 836, 839, 841, 843, 850, 853, 910) to the part of the logical network segment through the IPsec-protected connection.
