  • Patent number: 10162788
Abstract: A multi-host endpoint reflector enables a method of communication between multiple USB hosts through the USB devices connected to them, where data from one USB host is routed across the USB devices between endpoints of complimentary directions to one or more additional USB hosts. The multi-host endpoint reflector may be integrated with a USB hub controller to form a USB compound device to create a multi-host endpoint reflector hub. A USB multi-host endpoint reflector hub enables a USB OTG B device to become a host upon request by providing a data bridge between the OTG B device after it has transitioned to a host role while any other OTG A device that already is a host is not required to change its host role to a slave role. Therefore a plurality of OTG host devices may co-exist on the same interconnection system hub and communicate there between.

  • Patent number: 9723314
Abstract: A system, circuit and method are provided herein for reducing perceived flicker in video images transmitted using compression and bit rate control. According to one embodiment of the method, a parameter used in the video compression scheme is stored. The parameter stored is one that is subject to adjustment during normal operation of the video compression scheme. Compressed video frame data issued by a compression encoder is used to test for a still-picture condition. When a still-picture condition is detected, the value of the parameter used by the video compression scheme is fixed to the stored value for the duration of the still-picture condition. An embodiment of the system includes an encoder, buffer, bit rate controller, and flicker reduction circuit. An embodiment of the flicker reduction circuit includes a still-picture detection circuit operably coupled to a compressed data path beginning at the output of the encoder.

  • Publication number: 20170024344
Abstract: Systems and methods for reserving bandwidth in a USB hub are disclosed. The systems and methods may include receiving data from at least one downstream endpoint in a buffer, identifying a current capacity of the buffer, comparing the current capacity of the buffer to a buffer threshold, generating an output based at least on the comparison, based at least on the output, dynamically throttling at least one low-throughput endpoint, and allocating a predefined bandwidth to a USB device that has a predetermined bandwidth requirement by providing bandwidth to the USB device available from the throttle of the at least one low-throughput endpoints.

  • Publication number: 20160273564
Abstract: Examples of the disclosure enable a printed circuit board to be coupled to a chassis. In some examples, a coupling mechanism includes a first body including a head portion and a shaft portion that has an inner surface defining a channel. The coupling mechanism includes a second body including a head portion and a shaft portion. At least a part of the second body shaft portion is positionable within the channel. An outer surface of the second body shaft portion is sized to enable the second body shaft portion to expand radially or move laterally within the channel when the part of the second shaft portion is positioned within the channel. Examples of the disclosure enable the printed circuit board to be coupled to a chassis in low-profile, reduced-stress manner.

  • Publication number: 20070180277
Abstract: An improved apparatus and method for reducing printer power consumption, thereby conserving energy and reducing heat generation. A power control circuit automatically transitions a printer from a standby mode to an OFF state when the computer it is attached to is powered down or transitions to an inactive state. In various embodiments of the invention printer power consumption is reduced with corresponding decreases in heat generation, which can extend the life of printer components and increase their reliability, reduce the need for repairs, and prolong effective printer life.
