    Abstract: According to the present invention, a molded catalyst for use in the production of methyl methacrylate can be provided. The molded catalyst comprises synthetic faujasite-type zeolite and a layered magnesium silicate compound, wherein the sulfur content in the layered magnesium silicate compound is 0.10% by weight or less. According to the present invention, a method for producing methyl methacrylate can also be provided. The method is characterized by comprising a step of carrying out a gas-phase catalytic reaction of methyl ?-hydroxyisobutyrate using the above-mentioned molded catalyst for use in the production of methyl methacrylate.
