The connected device comprises processing circuitry configured to determine that a wireless transmission originated from a medical device by inspecting the wireless transmission to identify a signal characteristic, header data, or payload data of the wireless transmission, and determining that the signal characteristic, header data, and/or payload data of the wireless transmission matches a predetermined medical device signal characteristic, header data, and/or payload data. The processing circuitry is further configured to, upon determining that the wireless transmission originated from a medical device, perform medical device-specific processing on the wireless transmission.
