  • Publication number: 20180083981
Abstract: A method, computer program product, and system for authenticating a computing device by geographic attestation includes a processor utilizing executing an authentication application utilizing location services executing on the computing device to obtain location data from the location services. The processor obtains the location data and creates and encodes a data structure in a secured area of a memory; the data structure is only accessible to the authentication application. The processor transmits to an authentication server, an authentication request that includes the encoded location data, requesting access to secure content. The processor obtains a request to query identifiers proximate to the computing device for additional location information and queries the identifiers and transmits this additional location information to the authentication server.

  • Publication number: 20180054657
Abstract: Various embodiments select advertisements for delivery to at least one mass media streaming device at a given location and time slot. Content and corresponding time and physical location information being posted in an online portal from at least one electronic device are obtained. The content is filtered based on time slot and physical location. A set of typical topics for a location and time slot are determined. A subset of advertisements is selected from a set of available advertisements based on the set of typical topics. The subset of advertisements is delivered to the at least one mass media streaming device. The mass media streaming device may be a television. A set of current topics for the location and time slot may be determined and aggregated with the set of typical topics. The subset of advertisements may be selected from the set of available advertisements based on the aggregated set.

  • Publication number: 20170310680
Abstract: A method indicates a trustworthiness of data processed in accordance with a processing rule. A first trust weight is assigned to a data item to be processed to provide a weighted data item, the first trust weight representing a level of trust in the data item. A trust value is selected from a set of data trust values, the selected trust value being representative of a determined level of trust in the data item. The selected trust value is defined as the first trust weight which is associated with the data item. The first trust weight is assigned to a processing rule to provide a weighted processing rule, the first trust weight representing a level of trust in the processing rule. The weighted data item is processed in accordance with the weighted processing rule to generate a data output and an indication of a trust level for the data output.

  • Patent number: 9585011
Abstract: Anonymizing location information of a mobile device by an anonymization provider. The anonymizing provider receives, from the mobile device, location information identifying the location of the mobile device and an anonymity requirement. The anonymization provider selects an obfuscation value indicating an extent of location obfuscation that satisfies the received anonymity requirement. The extent of location obfuscation determines location boundaries within which a generated obfuscated location will reside. The anonymization provider generates an obfuscated location for the mobile device and sends the obfuscated location to the mobile device.

  • Patent number: 9432843
Abstract: A technique for anonymizing location information of a mobile device includes intercepting, by the mobile device, a request for access to actual location information of the mobile device made by an application. The mobile device redirects the request to a trusted edge server. The trusted edge server obfuscates the location information based on a location of one or more other mobile devices proximal to the mobile device to generate obfuscated location information. The one or more other mobile devices are selected based on a similarity between a user profile associated with the mobile device and user profiles associated with the one or more other mobile devices. The trusted edge server returns the obfuscated location information to the mobile device, which sends the obfuscated location information to the application in place of the requested location information.
