  • Publication number: 20230104193
Abstract: Systems and techniques for distributed machine learning (DML) in an information centric network (ICN) are described herein. Finite message exchanges, such as those used in many DML exercises, may be efficiently implemented by treating certain data packets as interest packets to reduce overall network overhead when performing the finite message exchange. Further, network efficiency in DML may be improved achieved by using local coordinating nodes to manage devices participating in a distributed machine learning exercise. Additionally, modifying a round of DML training to accommodate available participant devices, such as by using a group quality of service metric to select the devices, or extending the round execution parameters to include additional devices, may have an impact on DML performance.

  • Publication number: 20230086899
Abstract: A computing node includes interface circuitry and processing circuitry. To implement a spectrum harvesting entity in a wireless network configured for crowdsource-based unlicensed spectrum harvesting, the processing circuitry is configured to select a set of crowdsourcing nodes from a plurality of crowdsourcing nodes available in the wireless network. A plurality of spectrum occupancy reports (SORs) is received from the set of crowdsourcing. Each of the plurality of SORs indicates a channel occupancy status of a communication channel in the unlicensed spectrum sensed by a corresponding crowdsourcing node of the set and geolocation associated with the corresponding crowdsourcing node. A spectrum occupancy map of the unlicensed spectrum is generated based on the channel occupancy status and the geolocation provided in the plurality of SORs by each crowdsourcing node of the set of crowdsourcing nodes.

  • Publication number: 20230013452
Abstract: System and techniques for an environmental control loop are described herein. A device for an environmental control loop can include a memory including instructions and processing circuitry that when in operation, can be configured by the instructions to receive environmental sensor data from a first component in a set of heterogeneous components installed in an environment with a controller. The environmental sensor data can indicate a service level value sensed by the first component. The controller can also measure a violation of a service level objective based on comparing the environmental sensor data to a threshold. The controller can also transmit an adjustment to an operating parameter of a second component of the set of heterogeneous components. The adjustment can be operative to attenuate the violation of the service level objective when implemented by the second component.

  • Patent number: 11544675
Abstract: Technologies described herein offer a contextually aware schedule service technology. User-related activity is monitored to detect a future event related to the user. Information is extracted from the monitored user-related activity information. The extracted information about the future event can be evaluated to determine whether it is related to another future event associated with the user. When a particular future event for the user changes, a set of related events may be utilized to determine a related event is affected by the change. For example, a user may be notified to cancel or modify the future event. Additionally, service providers associated with the affected event(s) may be notified, or a personal assistant service may facilitate automatically rescheduling the affected events.

  • Patent number: 11531602
Abstract: A system according to certain aspects improves the process of data restoration and application recovery operations. The system can back up primary data based on network path information associated with a client computing device. When the primary data becomes corrupted or unavailable, a previously backed up copy of the primary data may be used as the primary data to achieve instant application recovery. For example, when a portion of the primary data is requested by a user or an application, the system may identify a corresponding portion in the backed up copy of the primary data and provide the identified portion to the user or the application in a manner transparent to the user or the application. Alternatively, the application running on the client computing device may send a request for the backup copy of the primary data to the secondary storage device upon determining that the requested data is not available.

  • Patent number: 11509745
Abstract: Systems and techniques for efficient remote function execution in an information centric network (ICN) are described herein. For example, a requestor node may transmit an admission probe interest packet. Here, the admission probe interest packet includes a name that includes a function. The admission probe interest packet also includes a metric of a parameter of the function. In response, the requestor node may receive a manifest data packet. The manifest includes a metric of function execution at a node that created the manifest data packet. The manifest also includes a name of an implementation of the function. The requestor node may then determine that the metric of function execution meets a threshold and transmit an interest packet that includes the name of the implementation of the function.

  • Publication number: 20220366296
Abstract: Techniques for configuring autosave triggers in a computing environment based on environment and data conditions are disclosed. A system trains a machine learning model based on data attributes and environmental attributes to generate autosave value triggers for a computing environment. The autosave value triggers are triggered by different conditions. For example, one autosave trigger may be triggered when an error condition is detected. Another may be triggered when a certain number of operations are performed. The machine learning model generates autosave trigger values scores for one or more autosave triggers. The system may implement the autosave triggers in the computing environment based on the autosave trigger values.

  • Patent number: 11500618
Abstract: A library uplift tool may automatically identify changes to elements of an between different versions of a software library interface. The public interfaces of the two versions may be compared to identify changes to datatypes, variable or function names, parameter names, parameter lists, and other elements of the library interface. Locations in application source code using the software library may then be identified and linked with the changes between the library versions. A report or user interface may then display specific locations in the application source code that are affected by the changes to the library versions. For each change, a suggested action may be presented in the interface, and an example of modified source code may be generated. The interface may be interactive such that modified source code may be automatically propagated to source code files for compatibility with the new library version.

  • Patent number: 11494340
Abstract: Expandable cache management dynamically manages cache storage for multiple network shares configured in a file server. Once a file is written to a directory or folder on a specially designated network share, such as one that is configured for “infinite backup,” an intermediary pre-backup copy of the file is created in an expandable cache in the file server that hosts the network share. On write operations, cache storage space can be dynamically expanded or freed up by pruning previously backed up data. This advantageously creates flexible storage caches in the file server for each network share, each cache managed independently of other like caches for other network shares on the same file server. On read operations, intermediary file storage in the expandable cache gives client computing devices speedy access to data targeted for backup, which is generally quicker than restoring files from backed up secondary copies.

  • Patent number: 11467863
Abstract: Illustrative systems and methods enable a virtual machine (“VM”) to be powered up at any hypervisor regardless of hypervisor type, based on live-mounting VM data that was originally backed up into a hypervisor-independent format by a block-level backup operation. Afterwards, the backed up VM executes anywhere anytime without needing to find a hypervisor that is the same as or compatible with the original source VM's hypervisor. The backed up VM payload data is rendered portable to any virtualized platform. Thus, a VM can be powered up at one or more test stations, data center or cloud recovery environments, and/or backup appliances, without the prior-art limitations of finding a same/compatible hypervisor for accessing and using backed up VM data. An illustrative media agent maintains cache storage that acts as a way station for data blocks retrieved from an original backup copy, and stores data blocks written by the live-mounted VM.
