  • Publication number: 20220014740
Abstract: An example apparatus includes image processing circuitry to determine an uncovered region of a background image in a current video frame relative to the background image in a previous video frame, the uncovered region obscured in the previous video frame by a first foreground region of the previous video frame, and the uncovered region uncovered in the current video frame based on movement of a second foreground region in the current video frame relative to the first foreground region of the previous video frame, and encoder circuitry to generate an updated frame portion by encoding the second foreground region and dirty blocks of the background image corresponding to the uncovered region without encoding static blocks of the background image, the static blocks not corresponding to the uncovered region, and store the updated frame portion in the at least one memory.

  • Patent number: 9111484
Abstract: An electronic device may have one or more imaging sensors. The imaging sensors may be used in combination with an optional mechanical gesture to analyze the lighting conditions of the environment around the electronic device. The electronic device may set auto-exposure, auto-white balance, and auto-focus settings based on the analysis. The electronic device may include a shaped display. The imaging sensors may be used in calibration of a projector for the shaped display and may be used in sending touch inputs associated with the shaped display. The electronic device may be able to capture a photograph during video capture. The electronic device may generate a display screen that identifies which portions of the scene being imaged correspond to the video and which portions correspond to the photograph.

  • Patent number: 8897602
Abstract: An electronic device may have a camera module and a host subsystem. The camera module may include a camera sensor and associated image processing and data formatting circuitry. The image processing and data formatting circuitry may include an image processor that produces unscaled images frames using data from the camera sensor. Unscaled image frames may be processed in multiple paths between the image processor and the host subsystem such as a path that includes an image compression circuit block, a parallel path that includes a preview scaler, and a parallel path that includes a multiframe scaler and a frame buffer and multiframe image processor circuitry. The multiframe scaler may scale unscaled frames for buffering and processing by the frame buffer and multiframe image processor circuitry to produce analysis results. The analysis results may be appended to compressed unscaled image frames sent to the host subsystem.

  • Patent number: 8576293
Abstract: An imaging system may include a multi-channel image sensor. In a multi-channel image sensor, multiple image streams from a common pixel array may be provided to a common interface transport for output on multiple logic channels. Image streams may include high-definition (HD) video and snapshot image data. Video image data may be resized using resize circuitry on the image sensors. Snapshot image data may be processed by the image sensor. Full-resolution portions of snapshot images may be output concurrently with resized HD video image data on multiple logic channels to an image signal processor. In an alternative embodiment, stack memory on the image sensor may be used to store full-resolution snapshot image data. Full-resolution snapshot image data may then be output concurrently with resized HD video image data at a slower data rate than the video image data.
