  • Patent number: 11693928
Abstract: A system and method for protecting copyright in content distributed online, in combination with specified business rules. A portion of content presented for upload on a network is analyzed to detect an image associated with a content owner; the image is compared with reference images to identify the content owner; and business rules are applied to control unauthorized uploading of the content. The identifier may be a logo included in the content as a digital graphic, or a non-visual marker. Analysis is advantageously performed on a sample of video frames or a segment of preselected length. If the content is found to be copyrighted, and the attempted upload is unauthorized, uploading may or may not be permitted, and the user may or may not be charged a fee for subsequent access to the content.

  • Patent number: 10360809
Abstract: A method and apparatus for utilizing a course skeleton for adaptive learning is provided. Based on student profile information and course goal information, a query is generated to dynamically determine which learning items should be presented to the student. The query, which is based on a particular learning goal, may differ from student to student, and therefore different students may be presented with different learning items to achieve the same learning goal. In addition, as new learning items is added to the learning item repository, the learning items returned by the query for a particular learning goal may change, even if the query used for the goal does not.

  • Publication number: 20160088832
Abstract: Organ and tissue preservation solutions having improved formulations. The improved solutions are comprised of two separate solutions. The first solution, is comprised of one or more salts, water, dissolved oxygen, Poly (0-2-hydroxyethyl) starch, lactobionic acid, adenosine, raffinose and allopurinol and said first solution has a pH of at least 7.0;, preferably from about 7.3 to about 8.2; and a second solution comprised of water, and reduce glutathione at a pH of below 7.0, preferably from about 3 to 6 wherein oxygen present in the solution is removed. The two formulations are then mixed together at the point of use resulting in the organ and tissue preservation solution having improved stability and that contains oxygen to prevent ischemia in the preserved organs. The present invention is also comprised of kits that contain the two formulations.

  • Publication number: 20150342175
Abstract: Organ and tissue preservation formulations with improved stability shelf life are provided by separating the formulation into a first solution having a pH of at least 7 and a second solution having a pH of less than 7. The first solution includes components with improved stability when stored at a pH of 7 or above, and the second solution includes components with improved stability when stored at a pH below 7. The first solution includes water, a balanced salt solution, a sugar, adenosine, orotic acid, malic acid, L-carnitine, and insulin. The second solution includes water, an antioxidant such as ascorbic acid, a cellular reducing agent such as reduced glutathione, L-citrulline, creatine monohydrate, L-carnosine, and L-arginine. During use, the first and second solutions are mixed to form a formulation final formulation that can be used at a physiological pH to preserve the function of the tissue or organ.

  • Publication number: 20150127567
Abstract: A data mining system extracts job opening information and derives, for a given job, relevant competencies and derives, for a given candidate, relevant competencies, for the candidate. In some embodiments, the data mining performs authentication of relevant competencies before performing matching. The matching outputs can be used to provide data to a candidate indicating possible future competencies to obtain, to provide data to a teaching organization indicating possible future competencies to cover in their coursework, and to provide data to employers related to what those teaching organizations are covering.
