  • Patent number: 6183005
Abstract: A steering module is so designed that a switch module coupled to a steering wheel has switch operating sections which can be replaced when necessary. The switch module includes a printed circuit board (PCB) having a switch programmable function; a connecting circuit element which electrically connects the PCB to an electronic combination switch; connectors which are detachably connected to switching units forming switch operating sections; and a semiconductor read-only memory (ROM) which can be replaced from outside a rear casing which accommodates the connecting circuit element and the PCB.

  • Patent number: 5944414
Abstract: A ceiling-mounted electric component assembly is provided. A molded ceiling for fastening to a vehicle ceiling is provided with an aperture for mounting therein an electric component. Conductors extend across the electric component mounting aperture. A circuit body receiver plate is provided to cover the mounting aperture. The electric component is mounted on the circuit body receiver plate, with the conductors positioned the former and the latter such that the electric component is electrically connected to at least one of the conductors. An additional circuit body is optionally mountable on the circuit body receiver plate. The mounting of electric components on the vehicle ceiling is facilitated, and various electric components can be optionally mounted.

  • Patent number: 5877936
Abstract: A circuit body (4) is received in an S-shaped configuration in a receiver (3) in a door. A protector (5) with a connector (6) is outwardly slidably provided inside the receiver (3). A circuit body fixing member (12) is provided at a front portion of the receiver (3), and a guide roller (15) is provided at a rear portion of the protector. The circuit body is wired from the fixing member (12) via the guide roller (15) into the protector and to the connector (6).Alternatively, a circuit body fixing member (12) and a guide roller (23) may be provided at a front portion of a receiver (10), the latter in such a manner as to be positioned inside the protector 27. The circuit body is held down by the guide roller (23) inside the protector. The circuit body is smoothly expanded and contracted with the opening and closing of the door.

  • Patent number: 5856908
Abstract: A plurality of electrical equipment units have a harness connecting connector, and an instrument panel has a plurality of mounting openings for the equipment units. An assembly housing is arranged in the instrument panel. A wiring harness for the instrument panel has a plurality of self-mating connectors for the equipment units, the self-mating connectors being respectively connected to a flexible flat circuit sheet. The assembly housing has a side wall with a harness receiving recess and has a plurality of connector holders. The harness receiving recess is fixedly mounted with the circuit sheet for the wiring harness, each of the connector holders supporting one of the self-mating connectors. Thus, the insertion of the electrical equipment unit into the mounting opening of the instrument panel causes the connection of the harness connecting connector and the self-mating connector.

  • Patent number: 5405672
Abstract: This invention is intended to ensure complete water-proof sealing between a fixture of a wire harness and a door frame and between a weather strip and the fixture and/or a door frame at a draw-out part of a door wire harness for an automobile door and prevent ingress of water from outside into the automobile cabin. An L-shaped recess (B) is formed across a side plate part (A1) to an inner plate part (A2) at a hinge fitting side of a door frame (A) of an automobile, a connector through hole (2) is formed in a main plate part (1) of an L-shaped fixture (D) which covers the L-shaped recess (B) and a weather strip guideway (3) is formed on the surface of the main plate part (1).

  • Patent number: 5397247
Abstract: A connector structure is provided wherein a generally sheet-like cable has a plurality of conductors disposed parallel to one another at predetermined intervals and is insulatively covered, and an end portion of the cable is inserted into an opening formed in a connector housing, so that the conductors are respectively pressed against and connected to a plurality of resilient connection terminals received in the housing. The structure includes a holder which is sandwiched by the pre-bent end portion of the cable, and having slits corresponding to gaps between the conductors; and a holder guide which is connected to the holder in such a manner that the holder and the cable pass through the holder guide. The holder and the holder guide are fitted into the housing, and the connector housing has partition walls engaging in the gaps and the slits.
