  • Publication number: 20180086338
Abstract: When a host vehicle makes a lane change from a first lane into a second lane, an approach suppression control unit of a travel assist device monitors whether or not another vehicle, which is traveling in a third lane existing on an opposite side from the first lane with the second lane interposed therebetween, is making a lane change into the second lane. In the case it is determined that the other vehicle is making a lane change from the third lane into the second lane, the approach suppression control unit implements an approach suppression control for suppressing the host vehicle and the other vehicle from approaching each other.

  • Patent number: 9926156
Abstract: A sheet size specification system for specifying size of a sheet on a sheet stacking tray of an image forming device, by using an image capture unit of a portable terminal. The system includes an analyzer and a size specifier. The analyzer analyzes image data captured by the image capture unit, the image data indicating the sheet stacking tray and the sheet thereon. The size specifier acquires, from the analyzed image data, first position data indicating positions of predefined feature points of the sheet stacking tray and second position data indicating positions of an outline of the sheet, and specifies size of the sheet on the sheet stacking tray based on the first position data and the second position data.

  • Publication number: 20170349173
Abstract: In a vehicle or a lane change timing determination method, when a distance from a vehicle to a nearby vehicle is outside of a first distance threshold value, lane changing is determined to be permitted. When the distance is within the first distance threshold value, lane changing is determined not to be permitted. After determining lane changing to be not permitted, lane changing not being permitted is switched to lane change being permitted when the nearby vehicle decelerates or accelerates to move further away from the vehicle than a second distance threshold value, even if the distance is still within the first distance threshold value.

  • Publication number: 20170341653
Abstract: Provided is a route guidance apparatus and a route guidance method which are capable of appropriately performing route guidance on a road where a plurality of lanes exist on one side. The route guidance apparatus 12 or the route guidance method determines the timing of the automated or manual lane change based on the total required distance Dlcttl corresponding to the number of required lane changes Nlcn required for reaching the target lane 502tar from the current lane 502cur, and the remaining distance to the planned course change point Prc from the current position Pcur. When the timing of the lane change is reached, the timing of the automated lane change or the manual lane change is guided, or the automated lane change is performed.

  • Publication number: 20170336496
Abstract: A marker used to detect an axial deviation of a radio wave axis Ar of a radar unit is provided in front of the radar unit and outside a radar field of view range set based on a filed of view angle ? of the radar unit on a vehicle. A relative position between the radar unit and the marker is different between before and after an axial deviation of the radio wave axis Ar of the radar unit occurs. Thus, an axial deviation (an amount ?0 of axial deviation in an azimuth direction and an amount ?? of axial deviation in an elevation angle direction) of the radio wave axis Ar of the radar unit can be detected by obtaining a difference in marker detection position before and after the axial deviation by the radar unit.

  • Publication number: 20170243491
Abstract: A surrounding information acquisition section and a recognition unit (a surrounding detection unit) detect a first position (a change position) at which the type of a lane mark is switched. A lane change determination unit outputs a determination result whether lane change is available or unavailable on the basis of the type of the lane mark ahead of the first position to a notification mechanism (a notification unit) at a time point at which a vehicle has reached a predetermined range including the first position. The notification mechanism makes notification of the determination result.

  • Publication number: 20170240172
Abstract: A lane change controller determines whether lane change is available or unavailable on the basis of a detection result of an obstacle by a radar and an obstacle recognizer in response to detection of a winker operation by an operation detection unit. A lane keep controller continues lane keep control if the operation detection unit detects the winker operation during the lane keep control and if the lane change controller determines that the lane change is unavailable.

  • Publication number: 20170240177
Abstract: A driving assistance system includes a deactivation controller that controls deactivation of Automatic Lane Change (ALC) control and a second driving assistance control (such as lane keeping control). During the ALC control, the deactivation controllet deactivates the ALC central when, for example, a control amount by a driver of a steering wheel or the like has exceeded a first deactivation threshold value. During the second driving assistance control, the deactivation controller deactivates the second driving assistance control when, for example, the control amount has exceeded a second deactivation threshold value. The first deactivation threshold value and the second deactivation threshold value are set to differ from each other.
