Abstract: The present invention aims at providing a printing system and technique correctly reflecting supplied color information, and a technique of managing color information in a centralized manner thereby facilitating maintenance of data. The printing system has a color information database DB in which color information is registered, and the color information has respective items of “color name”, “ink name”, “printing order”, “screen angle”, “process colorization instruction”, “pseudo color” and “ink type”. In print processing, it acquires a color name specified as the color of a prescribed area in digital data subjected to printing, and retrieves and extracts color information corresponding thereto from the color information registered in the color information database DB. Then, it performs raster image processing and performs print processing on the basis of the extracted color information.

Abstract: A method for correcting distortion of an image displayed on a screen of a display device. The method includes steps of taking a picture of a test pattern displayed on the screen of the display device in an adjusting state, extracting distortion information representing distortion of the test pattern from an image obtained from a result of the above step, extracting additional information as a distortion characteristic, the distortion information being approximately represented by a plurality of basic information items which are known and the additional information coupled to the basic information items, storing the additional information in a storage unit, reproducing the distortion information using the additional information stored in the storage unit and the plurality of basic information items when an image is displayed on the screen of the display device, and controlling the display device based on the reproduced distortion information so that the distortion is canceled.

Abstract: An original figure corresponding to a contracted white separation figure is extracted as an objective figure (step T2), and original figures adjacent to the objective figure are then extracted (step T3). When a white separation figure corresponding to a contiguous figure is a contracted type or a expanded type, a white separation figure corresponding to the objective figure is modified by computing a logical sum of the objective figure and the contiguous figure (step T5), executing the choking process (step T6), and executing the subsequent logical operations (steps T7 and T8). When a white separation figure corresponding to a contiguous figure is a clipped type or has a shape identical with that of the contiguous figure, the white separation figure corresponding to the objective figure is modified by generating an extended figure (step T9 or T11) and adding the slip-in figure to the white separation figure corresponding to the objective figure.
