  • Patent number: 10967833
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for monitoring a group of vehicles for suspicious activity. The method includes grouping a plurality of vehicles in communication with a network to collectively monitor and detect evidence of theft or unauthorized intrusion using existing theft detection sensors located in the plurality of vehicles. One of the plurality of vehicles is designated as a master vehicle responsible for managing at least one control feature, and is operably coupled to the network and at least one processor. At least one input from at least one theft detection sensor of the plurality of vehicles is obtained and analyzed for suspicious information. The method includes determining that the input represents or contains evidence indicative of a theft or unauthorized intrusion. A communication is then provided to at least one of another vehicle, a vehicle owner, and the network indicating a potential theft or unauthorized intrusion.
