  • Publication number: 20050111042
Abstract: When a digital camera DC, having a sensor for detecting an orientation of the digital camera DC, transmits an image signal to a printer for printing an image, a layout of character data, e.g., a date, to be printed with the image can be determined in accordance with the orientation of the camera at the time of print designation of image in the digital camera DC, and the character data can be printed with the image on a printing medium in the layout in accordance with the orientation of the camera.

  • Publication number: 20050088689
Abstract: This invention has as its object to allow an authentication process that avoids unnecessary information from being stored in a digital camera irrespective of whether or not a digital camera connected to the printer has a direct print function. To this end, in this invention, in an early stage of connection between a digital camera DSC and PD printer, the PD printer side requests an object which contains a keyword as authentication information of those which are stored and held by the DSC (S29). As a result, after it is determined the returned information contains authentication information, the printer notifies the DSC of its own authentication information (S33).

  • Publication number: 20050088694
Abstract: In a case where a digital still camera and a printer are connected to each other and marginless printing of an image stored on a memory card provided in the digital still camera is performed on a recording paper, a non-print area of the image not to be printed on the recording paper is displayed on a display of the digital still camera on the basis of a difference between an aspect ratio of the image and an aspect ratio of the recording paper, and the displayed non-print area is set to be able to be shifted in arbitrary directions by using an operation unit of the digital still camera.

  • Publication number: 20050083548
Abstract: This invention completes an authentication procedure early when it is ready to directly communicate with a printer, and serves as a user interface device of a direct print system. To this end, when a digital camera DSC is ready to directly communicate with a printer, and receives from the printer an inquiry about objects stored and held by the camera, it assigns an object which contains a word serving as authentication information of those stored and held in the DSC to a first handler (S52), assigns other objects (image data and the like) to subsequent handlers (S53), and sends that assignment result to the printer (S54).

  • Publication number: 20040021902
Abstract: This invention has as its object to allow a direct print system to display on a user interface of a digital camera whether or not a printer which can directly communicate with the digital camera has a function of automatically detecting a paper size and the like. To this end, according to this invention, in a print system that includes a digital camera, and a printer which can directly communicate with the digital camera, the printer has transmission means for transmitting information indicating that it has a function of automatically detecting the paper size and type to the digital camera, and the digital camera has a user interface for notifying the user that the printer has that function.

  • Publication number: 20030081251
Abstract: An imaging apparatus capable of outputting a sensed image to a printing apparatus issues a print request command containing a parameter for designating a print mode to a PD printer apparatus connected via an interface. The imaging apparatus transmits image data corresponding to the print mode on the basis of a data request from the PD printer apparatus. The imaging apparatus transmits, to the PD printer apparatus, the print request command in which the parameter is changed to invalid data, thereby designating printing of the transmitted image data.

  • Publication number: 20030081235
Abstract: An imaging apparatus capable of outputting a sensed image to a printing apparatus designates, to a PD printer apparatus connected via an interface, e.g., an index print or layout print mode in which a plurality of images are printed on one print medium. In printing in this print mode, the imaging apparatus counts the number of printed sheets in accordance with the number (total) of images printed on one sheet and the number (current) of actually printed images.

  • Publication number: 20030081237
Abstract: An imaging apparatus capable of outputting a sensed image to a printing apparatus determines the type of PD printer apparatus connected via an interface, and selects the type of image data to be output to the PD printer apparatus on the basis of the determination result. The imaging apparatus directly transmits a JPEG code for a predetermined PD printer apparatus, or decodes and transmits the JPEG code for another printer apparatus.

  • Patent number: 5721959
Abstract: A pattern editing apparatus includes a selector for selecting a plurality of patterns to be object patterns for an editing process. The plurality of patterns are displayed in a first area on a screen. The pattern selected by the selector is displayed in a second area on the screen. The apparatus also includes a provider, responsive to the selector, for providing a pattern for coupling the selected patterns displayed in the second area. The pattern coupling represents a flow chart processing relationship among the selected patterns. Also provided is a generator for generating a signal responsive to the absence of any pattern representing a flow chart processing relationship in the selected patterns, and an adder for adding the pattern representing the flow chart processing relationship as an object pattern of the editing process.

  • Patent number: 5418919
Abstract: An information processing device which operates under a multiprogramming system stores instruction words and an execution condition word for each of those instruction words as a pair in program memories, judges whether or not an instruction can be executed on the basis of its execution condition word and executes the instruction when it is judged to be executable. An information processing device which operates under a multi-CPU system connects a plurality of memories to a plurality of CPUs. The plurality of memories store the global variables accessed most frequently by the CPU with which their own memories are connected.
